3 1. Before beginning any exercise program, con- sult your physician. This is especially impor- tant for persons over age 35 or persons with pre-existing health problems. 2. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all users of this treadmill are adequately informed of all warnings and precautions.
4 2 0. Do not attempt to move the treadmill until it is properly assembled. (See ASSEMBLY on page 6, and HOW TO MOVE THE TREADMILL on page 19.) You must be able to safely lift 45 lbs. (20 kg) to move the treadmill. 2 1. Do not change the incline of the treadmill by placing objects under the treadmill.

6 ASSEMBL Y T o hire an authorized service technician to assemble the treadmill, call 1-800-445-2480. Assembly requires two persons. Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials. Do not dispos e of the pa ckin g mate rial s unti l asse mbly i s compl eted .
7 1. Make sure that the power cord is unplugged. With the help of a second person, carefully tip t he treadmill onto its left side. Have a second person hold the treadmill to prevent it from t ipping. Do not pivot the Frame (45). Attac h the four B ase Fee t (67) to th e Base (62 ) in the lo cation s shown wi th four #8 x 3/4" Tek Screw s (7).
8 3. Identify the Right Upright Spacer (73), which is marked with an "R." Orient the Right Upright Spacer so that the "R" is in the position shown. Insert the Upright Wire (91) through the Right U pright Spacer (73). Set the Right Upright Spacer on the Base (62).
6. Set the Left Upright Spacer (65) on the Base (62). Orient the Left Upright (64) so that the bracket is in the position shown. Hold a Bolt Spacer (71) inside the lower end of the Left Upright (64). Insert a 3/8" x 4" Bolt (1) with a 3/8" Star Washer (9) into the Left Upright and the Bolt Spacer.
10 8. With the help of a second person, hold the con- sole assembly near the Right Handrail (88) and the Left Handrail (not shown). Connect the Upright Wire (91) to the console wire. See the inset drawing. The connectors should slide together easily and snap into place.
1 1 10. Apply a generous amount of the included grease to the axles and the Cylinder Spacers (70). Identify an Upper Cylinder Cap (68), which has a small hole in the center. Hold a Shock Cylinder (69) near the bracket on the Right Upright (72). Make sure that the Shock Cylinder is positioned as shown with the arrow facing the rear of the treadmill.
12 11. If necessary, press the Left Accessory Tray (81) and the Right Accessory Tray (82) into the con- sole assembly. Press the indicated sides of the Accessory Trays into the console assem- b ly first. 11 81 82 Console Assembly 12. Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill.
13 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT T HE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- i cone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform. Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear.
14 FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers an impressive array of features designed to make your workouts more effec- tive and enjoyable. When you use the manual mode of the console, you can change the speed of the treadmill with the touch of a button.
15 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER IMPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to c old temperatures, allow it to warm to room tem- perature before turning on the power. If you do not d o this, you may damage the console displays or other electrical components.
16 7. Select a display mode and monitor your progress with the display. T he console offers several display modes. The dis- play mode that you select will determine which w orkout information is shown. To select the de- sired display mode, press the Disp.
17 During the workout, the profile will show your progress. The f lashing segment of the profile repre- s ents the current segment of the workout. The height of the flashing segment indi- cates the speed setting for the current segment. At the end of each segment, a series of tones will sound.
18 THE INFORMATION MODE The console features an information mode that keeps t rack of the total distance that the walking belt has moved and the total number of hours that the treadmill h as been used. You can also adjust the contrast level of the display and view the status of the optional iFit Live module.
19 HOW T O MOVE THE TREADMILL Before moving the treadmill, remove the key and un- p lug the power cord. D ue to the size and weight of the treadmill, moving it re- quires two people. Hold the uprights firmly near the con- sole. Tip the treadmill back until it rolls freely on the wheels.
20 TROUBLESHOOTING M ost treadmill problems can be solved by following the simple steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, see the front cover of this manual. PROBLEM: The power does not turn on SOLUTION: a.
21 Locate the Reed Switch (33) and the Magnet (39) on the left side of the Pulley (38). Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch.
22 PROBLEM: The walking belt is off-center or slips when walked on SOLUTION: a. If the walking belt is off-center, first remove the k ey and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD.
