2 FEATURES Your RadioShack Talking Alarm Clock combines a simple design with ad vanced technology. It's features include: LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) — lets you easily read the current time, alarm time, and function icons. 10-Minu te Snooze — so you can get an extra10 minutes of r est.
3 Hourly Report — announces each hour. Three Alarm Sounds — you ca n select one of three sounds for the alarm: a rapid beeping, a cuckoo, or a rooster. Backlight Display — the display can be il- luminated to help you read it in the dark. 63-963.

5 INSTALLING BATTERIES Your Talking Alarm Clock r equires two AA batteries (not supplied) for power. Fo r the best performance and longest life, we rec- ommend RadioShack alkaline batteries. Cautions: • Use only fresh batter ies of the required size and recommended type.
6 Follow these steps to inst all batteries. 1. Slide the batter y com par tment cover on the back of the cloc k in the direc- tion of the arro w to rem ove i t . 2. Place the batteries in the compar t- ment as indicated by the polarity sy m- bols (+ and –) marked inside.
7 Notes: • When you install ne w b atteries, the clock star ts at 12:00 am . • If nothing appears on the displa y , make sure the batteries are fresh and installed properly . If the display begins to dim, the voice or alarm sounds warped, or the clock st ops operating properly, replace the batteries.
8 OPERATION SETTING THE CURRENT TIME 1. Press MODE twice until the displa y flashes. 2. T o set the hour , repeatedly press HOUR to advance the hour displa y one hour at a time. The clock sounds a tone and announces eac h hour as you adv ance the display .
9 If you adv ance the display to a pm hour , PM appears. If you do not press HOUR af ter 1 sec- ond, the clock sounds a tone and announces the time on the displa y . The displa y flashes for about 5 sec- onds and the time is set. 3. T o set the minutes, f ollow the same instruction s f o r setting the hour , but press MINUTE in Ste p 2.
10 SETTING THE ALARM 1. Press MODE until the displa y flashes and AL appears. 2. F ollow Step s 2 and 3 under “Set ting the Current Time” on Page 8 to set alarm hour and minute.
11 3. A second after setting the hour and minute, a tone sounds and the clock announces the alar m time you set. The displa y flashes se ven times, then the alarm tim e is set and the displa y retur ns to the current time.
12 ALARM SOUND SELECTION Press HOUR to selec t the sound you like. Each time you pres s HOUR , the clock dem- onstrates a rooster alarm, a chirping alarm, or a cuckoo alarm. USI NG SNOO ZE At the alarm time you set, the alarm sounds for one minute, then automatically shuts off.
13 Note: To entirely shut off the alarm before it automatically shuts off, press AL O N/OF F . HOURLY REPORT Press HR ANNOUNCE , a “radiant” ico n ap- pears in the upper left corner of display.

15 CARE To enjoy your Talking Alarm Clock for a long time: • K eep the clock dry . If it gets wet , wipe it dry immediately . • Use and store the cloc k only in norm al temperature en v ironment s. • Handle the clock gently and carefully . Don’t drop it.
16 Modifying or tampering with the clock’s in- ternal components can c ause a malfunction and invalidate its warrant y. If your clock is not performing as it should, take it to your local RadioShack st ore for ass istance.
