2 FEA TURES Your RadioShack Radio Controlled Clock with Thermo meter combines a simple design with advanced technolo- gy. You can set the clock so it automatically sets the time and dat e, using a a 60 kHz longwave radio signal fro m radio station WWVB.
3 PREPARATION INSTALLING BATTERIES Your clock requires two AA ba tteries (not supplied ) for power. For th e best operation and longe st life, We recom- mend RadioShack alkaline batteries. Cautions: • Use only fresh batteries of th e required siz e and type.
4 The clock also automatica lly shows a time zone to the left of the tim e. While the clock is scanning for a signal, you can set it (if necessary) to show your time zone. To change th e time zone, re- peatedly press ZONE until the desir ed time zone ( PACIFIC , MOUNTAIN , CENTRAL , or EAST ) appears.
5 Checking the Signal Status The clock displays these symbols to indicat e the current or last status of radio signal reception. Notes: • On very cloudy and stormy days, the signal might not be stron g enough to reset the clock.
6 T urning Off Automatic T i me Setting If you move to an are a where the time- setting signal is unavailable, you can turn off auto matic time settin g.
7 OPERATION To switch between the seconds display and the da y of the we ek, press CLOCK . To switch between viewing t he month/ date and the alarm t ime, press ALARM (see “Using the Alarm”). To view the time in an other time zo ne, press ZONE until the desire d time zone appears.
8 USING SNOOZE When the a larm sounds, you can pr ess ((SNOOZE)) to silence the al arm for about 8 minutes. flashes on the dis- play. After 8 minut es, the alarm sounds again. You can us e the snooze fea ture repeatedly f or up to 24 hours. ((SNOOZE)) 63-973.
9 CARE AND MAINTENANCE Your RadioShack Radio Controlled Clock with Ther mometer is an example of su- perior design and craftsmanship. The following suggestions will help you care for your clock so you can enjoy it for years. Keep the clock dry. If it gets wet, wip e it dry immediately.
10 RESETTING THE CLOCK If the clock stop s operating or locks up, you can reset it. Press RESET with a pointed object , such as a straightened pa pe r clip. All display segments brief ly appear, t hen the clock sta rts scanning for the radio signal. RESET 63-973.
