2 Fe ature s Y our Optimus CD-8400 101-Disc Com pac t Disc Automatic Changer is the next step in CD changer technology . I t lets you load up to 101 CDs. This lets you select up to 100 CDs for c ontinuous play and gives you more musical variety without your having to continually remove and load CDs.

We recommen d alkaline bat t eries (RadioShac k Cat. No. 23-552). 1. Press in the battery compartmen t cover ’s latch and lift off th e cover .
7 Basi c Op er ation War n in g: T o protect your hearing, s et the vol ume on y our receiver o r amplifier to it s lowest l evel before you load an d play a CD. Ca ution: Do not set the volume on your receiver or am pli fier too high while playing soft or quiet portions of a m usic program.
8 Bas ic Op er ati on 3. Hold the CD vertically and insert it into the CD slot, label side to the left. 4. T o load more CDs, repea t edly press DISC NUM BER (or DISC on the remot e) so the de sired rack number appears on the display . Then repeat St ep 3.
9 Ba sic Op erat ion Playing CDs T o select a CD, enter its number on the remote control, then press DISC SET within 5 seconds. Y ou can al so use DISC NUM BER (or DI SC on the remote) t o st ep through the d isc numbers until you reach the d esired CD.
10 Bas ic Op er ati on C heck ing the Time Remain ing a nd E lap se d on a CD The display normally shows the current CD an d track numbers, and t he current track ’s e lapsed play time. Press TIME on the remot e control once during pla y to display the cu rr e nt track’s remain ing time.
11 Spe cial Feat ures Quick ly S electi ng T ra cks When the CD changer is s toppe d or paused, press or ( o r or on the remote control) until the CD changer displays the desired track’s numbe r . Or , ente r the track number using the remote control’s number buttons, then press TRACK SET within 5 seconds.

Pr ess PGM during play , then select the CD and trac k using the remot e control’s numbe r buttons an d DISC SET/TRACK SET , an d press PGM .

1 7 T r ou bles hoot ing Self -Diagno stics The CD-8400 has a s el f-diagnostic function. W hen the CD changer de tects an abnormal condition, i t displays an error numbe r on the display . If th is happens , try th e suggestion shown. If the error nu mber still appears, take the CD changer to your local RadioShack store for assistance.
