4 PR EP A R A TI ON CONNECTING TO POWER You ca n power t he rece iver from inter nal ba tteri es, standar d AC power, or your vehi cl e’s batt er y. Instal ling Batt eries You can u s e t hree AA bat teri es (not suppli ed) t o power th e recei v- er.

Using Standard AC Power To power the receive r from st andard AC power , you need an op- tiona l AC adapt er, such as Cat.

8 CONNECTING AN EARPHONE/ HEADPHONES For pr ivat e lis ten ing, you c an pl ug opt ional mono he adphones or an earpho ne with a 1 / 8 -inch (3. 5 mm) plug ( bot h availabl e at your local RadioSh ack store ) into the jack on the left si de o f the receiver .
