4 FCC ST A TEMENT Your telep hone co mplies wit h Part 68 of FCC Rules . Upon reque st, yo u must provid e the ph one’s FC C regis tration number and RE N to your telephone compan y.
5 INSTALLA TION SELECTING A LOCATION You ca n place the ph one’s base on a desk to p or table, or mount it on a wall. Select a loca tion that i s: • near an a ccessible A C outl et • near a te l.

7 CONNECTING AND CHARGING THE BATTER Y PA CK The phon e comes with a rec hargeab le nickel -cadmium b attery pac k in the handset, but not connected. Be fore us- ing your pho ne, you must con nect the battery p ack and then ch arge it for about 24 hours.

9 SETTING THE RINGER’ S T ONE AND V OLUM E You ca n se t four r ing er tone s and a hi gh and lo w volume for each. To chang e the tone, lif t the handset and press FLASH . Then, enter the ringer tone numbe r (1–4) us ing the nu mber keys. T he sele cted to ne sounds briefl y.
10 OPERATION MAKING AND RECEIVING CALLS To make a call, li ft the hands et and press TA L K . The TALK indicat or on the handset and the IN USE indica tor on the base ligh t. When you hear a dial tone, dial the number . To answer a call, lift the handse t if nec - essary th en press TA L K .
11 Press MUTE again to resume your phone con versation . USING FLASH FLASH performs the electr onic equiva - lent of a switchh ook oper ation for spe- cial se rvice s, su ch as Cal l Wai ting. For exam ple, if you ha ve Call W aiting, press FLASH to answer a n inco ming cal l without disconne cting th e current call.
12 MEMORY DIALING The ET-11 12 can store three telepho ne numbers in sp eed dia l m emo ry , an d y ou can dial an y one of th ese numbers by pressing a si ngle butto n. You c an also store up to 20 more numbers that you can dial by enter ing a tw o-di git m emory loca tion numbe r.
13 Entering a P ause In some tel ephone sy stems, you mu st dial an a ccess c ode (9, fo r example) and wait for a se cond dial tone before you can dia l an outside nu mber. You can store the ac cess code with the phone number. Howe ver, you sho uld also store a pause a fter the ac cess cod e to allow the outsi de line time to connect .
