2 FEATURES Your RadioSha ck ET-652 Two-Li ne Speakerphone lets you make or receive calls on two separate telephon e lines using either the handset or the built in speakerphon e. You can conn ect up to five ET-652s t o the same t elephone line (depending on t he phone li ne’s powe r; see “ Rea d This B efore Ins tallation” on Page 3).
3 READ THIS BEF O RE IN ST A L LA TIO N Your ET -652 conform s to federa l regula- tions, and you c an conn ect it to mos t telephone l ines. However, each devi ce that y ou connect t o the telephone line draw s power from the line. We refer to this p ower draw as the de vice’s ringer equivalence num ber , or REN.

5 INSTALLAT ION MOUNTING TH E PHONE You can place t he E T -652 on a d esk or table , mount it o n a standard wall plate, or mount it directly on a wall.
6 • The USO C n umb er of the two-line jack to be installed i s RJ14C (RJ14W for a wal l plate). The US OC number o f a sin gle-line jac k is RJ1 1C. Plug one end of the supplied two-line telephon e c ord into the j ack on the back of t he phone. Then plug the cord’s ot her end into a modular telephone line jack.

8 SETTI NG T HE DIAL ING MO DE Set MODE on the sid e of the pho ne f or the type of service you h ave. If you are not sure which type you ha ve, do this tes t . 1. Set MODE to TON E . 2. Press Line 1 . 3. Lift the handset and listen f or a dial ton e .
9 CONFIRMI NG THE LINE NUMBERS Follow the se steps to determi ne which phone num ber is connected to which line. 1. Press LINE 1 , t hen lift the handset . 2. Dial o ne of your pho ne numbe rs. If the LINE 2 indicator f lashes, the numbe r is connec ted to L ine 2 .
10 4. Remove the adjust men t tool from its bracket on th e bottom of the phon e. 5. Use the adjustmen t tool to t urn the corresponding LINE 1 ADJUST con- trol on the back of the phone until the i n dicator flashes slowly . 6. Press LINE 1 . If th e indic a to r still flashes slowly , turn ADJUST un til it lights steadily .
11 OPERATION MAKING AND ANSWERING CAL LS To place a call, press the line button for an av ailable line. Then, lift the handset , or press SPEAKER t o use the speak er- phone, and dial as you woul d with a ny other phone . W hen you rec eive a call, that line’s indi- cator flashes .
12 USING HOLD To place a call on h old, press HO LD . The line’s indicator flashe s slowly. Note: P ressing anothe r l ine button with- out pressing HOLD disconnects the cur- rent call. To release a call from hol d, press that line’s button, then press SPEAKER ( if us - ing the speakerphon e) or pick up the handset.
13 USING T O NE SERVICES ON A PULSE LINE Some s pecial services , such as bank-by - phone, require tone signa ls. If you have pulse dialin g, you can still use thes e spe- cial tone services by following the se steps. 1. Be sure MO DE is s e t t o PULSE .
14 7. When y ou finish storing n umbers in me mory , s et NORM/STORE to NORM . For each stored nu mbe r, write the nam e of the person or compan y o n the mem o- ry index. Use a paper clip to li ft of f the in- dex’s plastic cover. Repl ace the c over.
15 T ROUBLESHOOTI NG W e do not expec t you to have any pro blem s wi th your ET-6 52, but if you do, these sugg estions m ight h elp. If you still hav e prob lems, disc onne ct the ET-652. If other pho nes on the sam e line work prope r ly, the fault is in this phone or its installation.
