To accom - pany your music, the keyboard has 100 rhythms , as well as auto ac compa ni- ments and percus sion so unds.
5 Preparatio n Tempo Control — le ts yo u s pe ed u p or slow down the te mpo of any selected music patte rn. Chord Book — lets yo u easily see which keys to press and which fing ers to use to form a chor d, as well as a chor d’s name.
6 Preparatio n Using Batteries Your key board c an use six AA batterie s (not suppl ied) for power. Fo r the best performanc e and lo nges t li fe, we recom - mend Radi oSha ck al kaline b atteri es. Cautions: • Use only fresh b atteries of the required si ze and reco mmended type.

12 Operat ion T urning Applause Off/On When you turn off e ither the melody or accompa niment and then pla y a tune, applause automa tically soun ds at the end of the tune . To turn of f the applause, hold down STOP and press either ON/ OFF LEF T or ON/OFF RIG HT .

21 Using MIDI ˆ Using MIDI Your ke yboard includ es a feat ure call ed MIDI (Mus ical Inst rument Di gital Int er- face). MIDI is the universal standar d for sending and rec eiving p erforma nce data between all type s of ele ctronic music al instrum ents, regardl ess of the m anufac- turer.
22 Using MIDI To recei ve MIDI data on y our keyboar d, use a MIDI cable to co nnect the key - board’s MI DI IN termin al to the other de- vice’s M IDI OUT termina l. Note: You do not need to m ake both conne ctions if you a re on ly eith er send - ing or r eceiving.
