7 SELECTING AUDIBLE/SILENT ALERT From the dat e/tim e display, press unti l the pag er displ ays e ither SILENT? or AUdIO? . • If t he pager displays SILENT? , it i s set to s ound an al ert tone. Press to mak e your pager vibr ate whe n it receive s a page.

13 RECEIVING P AGES AND READING MESSAGES When the page r rece ives a page , it al erts for 8 sec- onds. Press any button to s top t he alert. The n umber of u nread m essage s appear s on the di splay . Press to di splay your m essage. I f the pager displ ays , t here i s more info rmatio n on t he next scree n.
14 Press t o scr oll t hrough other messages. Aft er you read al l the messages , the time and date app ear on the dis play. Note: I f you do not read a message, the pager al erts every 2 mi nu tes and display s the number of unread mess ages ( for exampl e, 1 PAGE ).
15 PROTECTING/UNPROTECTING MESSAGES You can protec t m essage s so they are not removed when you rec eive more mes sages than the av ailab le memor y can store. To prot ect a messa ge, pres s while the pager dis- plays the messa ge you want to pr otect.
16 ERASING MESSAGES There are two ways to erase mess ages : eras e all and erase one . To erase al l messages, repeated ly press until the pager d ispla ys ErASE ALL? . Pres s . All r e ad , un - locke d mess ages ar e erased from memor y, and all other mes sages are moved to the fi r st message sl ots.
17 SPEC IAL MESS AGES The pager has the followi ng special me ssag es. OVERFLOW — appear s when the number of unr ead mess ages recei ved is gr eater th an the avai lable mem- ory. When this occu rs, any new mess age you recei ve bumps the oldest message ou t of memory.
18 PA G E R I D E A S Give your pager number t o fr iends and fa m il y. When they cal l your pager numb er, they can use their phone’ s tou ch-tone keypad to enter the number whe re you can r each them. Your pager displ ays thi s number when you r ece ive th e page .
19 • If you ha ve a cellu lar phone, gi ve out your pag er numbe r instead o f your cellu lar number . Then you can de cide who t o call back on your cell ular phone, witho ut payi ng for incom ing cell ular calls. This can dras ticall y redu ce y our monthly cell ular bill .
20 CARE AN D MAINTENANCE • Keep the pager dr y . If it get s wet, wipe it d ry imme diately . Liq uids can c ontain miner als th at corr ode the elec troni c ci rcuit s.
21 FCC INFORMA TION This p ager migh t cause TV/radi o interf erence even when it is op erating pr operl y. To det ermine whether your p ager is causin g the i nte rfere nce, turn it off. If the int erference go es away , your pa ger is causi ng the i n- terf er ence.
