3 FEA TURES Your RadioShack Cal ler ID System 2000 is the latest in teleph one Caller ID technology. I f Caller ID servi ce is available in your ar ea an d you subscri be to it, the telephone company sends the caller’s telephone number ( and name, i f available in your area) and t he date and time of the call between the first and second rings.

However, eac h modu le (a nd each de vice, such as a t elepho ne or answe ring mac hine) t hat you con- nect to th e tele phone l ine dr aws power from the l ine.
7 In the unl ikely event that your module causes problems on t he phone line, the phone company can temporarily disconnect your service. If thi s hap- pens, the phone co mpany attempts to notify you in advance.
8 Consul t your local RadioShack st ore if the pro blem conti nues . If your mod ule i s not perfor ming as it should, c heck i ts conn ectio n to your p hones and t he phone l ines. If yo u are unable t o locat e the p rob- lem, take your modul e to your local RadioSh ack store for assista nce.

12 Foll ow the se steps to co nnect the AC adapt er . 1. Plug th e AC ada pter’ s bar rel plug int o the module’ s 9VDC jack. 2. Plug th e AC ada pter into a standar d AC outlet. INST ALLING/REPLACING THE BA T TER Y The m odul e uses a 9-vol t bat tery to p rotect its m em ory if t he power f ails.
13 Notes: • If AC power fails or if the AC ada pter i s disc onnected, the modul e automati cally tes ts the bat tery each ti me it receiv es a new call . When appears on the displ ay or t he dis play dim s (ev en after you restor e power ), replac e the batte ry .

16 SETTING THE DISPLA Y LANGUAGE When you con nect po wer to the mod ule the f irst ti me, the mod ule begi ns its star t-up se quence. The mes sage re- ceiv ed indi ca tor on the f ront of the m od- ule l ights, and a test scr een and the tot al memory capa city ap pear on the disp lay.

23 MOUNTING THE MOD ULE You can pl ace the modu le dir ectl y on a desk, sh elf, or table. Or, you can mount the module on a wall . To mount the m odu le on t he wall , you need two screws ( not supp lied) wit h heads l arger than t he holes on the back of th e suppl ied mounting brack et.

25 OPE R A TIO N RECEIVING AND STORING CALLS When you re ceive a call , the Caller ID informat ion sent b y the phone company , i nc luding the cal ler’s tel ephone number ( and name, if avail - able) and th e call ’s d ate and time, a utomati call y appear s on t he di splay between t he fi rs t and s econd ri ngs.

31 DELETING CALLS When th e module’s m emory i s full , it automat ically delete s the oldes t call inf orma tion when a n ew call arri ves. You can als o manually de lete one or more call s on a li ne, and delete all cal ls on one or both li nes. Deleting a Si ngle Call 1.
