viii ST60 T ridata Instrumen t Owner’ s Manual In a SeaT alk system, each instrument can be e ither a master or dedicated repeater unit. A master instrument is directly connected to a transducer (the device that provides the raw data), and provides data and control for the service it is providing, t o all other equipment on the SeaT alk network.

Chapter 1: Operati on 1 Chapter 1: Oper ation 1.1 G etting s tarted This handbook describes how to operate, maintain and install the Raymarine ST60 T ridata instrument.
2 ST60 T ridata I nstrument Owner ’ s Manual •U s i n g t h e trip key to gain access to log, trip, water temperature and timer i nformatio n. All key presses are momentary unless ot herwise stated. Depth Use the depth key to select the required i nformation, as shown in the Using the depth key illust ration.
Chapter 1: Operati on 3 If for any reason depth i nformation is lost, the DEPTH title will flas h once per second and the display e d depth value wil l be the last good reading. Depth alarm threshold displays The alarm threshold displays are avail able if the instrument is operating as a master .
4 ST60 T ridata I nstrument Owner ’ s Manual Maximum speed The screen shows the maximum speed attained since t he last reset. The maximu m speed valu e is reset a utomatica lly at powe r-up. If the instrument is operati ng as a master , the maximum s pee d can also be reset manually by p re ssing t he re s e t key for 2 seconds.
Chapter 1: Operati on 5 Tr i p The trip key gives access to log, trip, water temperature and timer displays, as shown in the Using the trip key illustratio n. Log The Log s creen shows th e total dis tance covered b y the vessel since the instrument was fitted.
6 ST60 T ridata I nstrument Owner ’ s Manual T rip screen The trip screen shows the distance covered since the t rip value was last reset. The trip value is reset automatically at power -up, and if the instrument is operatin g as a master , t he trip value can al so be reset manu ally by pre ssin g th e res e t key for 3 seconds.
Chapter 1: Operati on 7 If you are using one of the race-start timers and the timer buzzer is enabled, the buzzer will: • Dou ble-beep every minute. • B ee p three times at t he start of the last 30 seconds. • B ee p once for each of the last 10 seconds.

They will ensure that servici ng procedures and replacement parts used will not affect performance.

Chapter 3: Installatio n 13 Chapter 3: Installati o n This chapter describes how to ins tall the ST60 T r idata instrument, and associate d Speed and Depth transducers. The transducers are fitted in the hull of the vessel and connected to the rear of the instrument.

For accurate speed and depth readings the transducers should be s i ted within the clea r water flow areas in dicated by the shad ed areas in the following diag ram.

20 ST60 T ridata Instrument Owner ’ s Manual Fitting the low-profile beze l In order to flus h -mount your ST60 i nstrument, yo u must first replace the standard bezel with the low-profile beze l as follows: 1. Hold the instrum ent in both hands w ith the display to wards you.

Moun t the assembled instrument, studs, b e zel and gasket into the panel. 8. Locat e t he flush mount bracket (6) onto the fixi ng studs and secure the assembly to the panel w i th the thumb-nu t s (5).

Connecting the instrument T ypes of connect ion The ST60 T ridata instrument, can be connected: • As a s t and-alone, master instrument connected directly to a Speed and/or Depth t ransducer .
Chapter 3: Installatio n 25 Power supply connect ions SeaT alk syst ems CA UTION: When instru ments are connected to SeaT alk , ensure that the power suppl y for the Se aT a lk 12 V line is protected by a 5 A fuse.

Calib ration 35 Speed calibration The speed calibration procedure involves carryi ng out two runs over a measured distance, to enable a calibration factor to be determined and applied to your ST60 T ridata instrument, to ensure optimum accuracy .
