DIGIT AL AUDIO (OPTICAL and CO AXIAL) : Use one of these jacks to connect your D VD Recorder if you ha ve a Dolby Digital or DTS receiv er or decoder . Some receiv ers hav e either the CO AXIAL or OPTIC AL type of Digital Audio Input jack, and some have both.

Chapter 1: Connections and Setup Connection: D VD Recorder + TV This connection uses the 2-wa y splitter (pro vided) so you will be able to watch one program while r ecording another pr ogram.
Notes about cable bo xes: If you have questions about using a cable box with the D VD Recorder, consult your cable company. RC A can only provide gener al instructions because cable service and cable box es differ in var ious areas.

Install Batteries in the Remote 1. Remove the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote. 2. Insert new batteries. Match the polarities (+ and –) on the batteries with the diagram on the remote. 3. Put the battery compar tment cov er back on the remote.
