Chapter 1 5 Chapter 1: Connections & Setup Things to Consider Before Y ou Connect Protect Against P ower Surges • Connect all components before you plug any of their power cor ds into the wall outlet. • Turn off the TV and/or component befor e you connect or disconnect any cables.

Connections & Setup Chapter 1 7 TV/DVD + HD Receiver + VCR 1. Make sure cable or antenna and/or s atellite is connected to your VCR. A. Connect the coaxial cable fr om your cable outlet or antenna to the antenna input on the HD Receiver . B. Connect the satellite dish antenna to the satellite input on the HD Receiver .

12 Chapter 1 Connections & Setup The Front of Y our TV/DVD Front Inputs The TV/DVD has front inputs for convenience: one set of audio/video inputs, an S-Video and a headphone jack. Locate the jacks either on the fr ont of the TV/DVD or on one of the sides.
Connections & Setup Chapter 1 13 Set the Menu Language The first part of the setup allows you to select your pr eferred language for the menu system. 1. Highlight your preferr ed language for the menu system using the arr ow buttons. 2. Press OK to select that language (the Channel Setup scr een appears with Auto channel search highlighted).

Playing DVDs Changing the Audio Language If the disc was created with differ ent language tr acks (recor ded in different languages), you can use the Info Display to temporarily change the DVD ’ s Audio Language setting.

Playing DVDs Using Bookmarks The bookmark feature lets you mark a point on the disc that you can go to quickly . You can stor e up to 6 bookmarks per disc.
