3 GENERAL SAFETY RULES WARNING: Read all instructions. F a i l ur e t o f o ll o w a ll instructions listed below may r esult in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury . The term “power tool” in all of the warnings listed below r efers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
4 Hold power tool s by insula ted grip ping surface s when performing an operation where the cutting tool may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a “live” wire will make exposed metal parts of the tool “live” and shock the operator.
5 SYMBOLS Some of the following symbols may be used on this tool. Please study them and learn their meaning. Proper interpreta- tion of these symbols will allow you to operate the tool better and safer .
6 SYMBOLS The following signal words and meanings ar e intended to explain the levels of risk associated with this product. Indicates an imminently hazardous situation, which, if not avoided, will result in death or serious injury . Indicates a potentially hazardo us situation, which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury .
7 DOUBLE INSULA TION Double insulation is a concept in safety in electric power tools, which eliminates the need for the usual three-wir e grounded power cord. All exposed metal parts are isolated from the internal metal motor components with protect- ing insulation.

9 KNOW YOUR RANDOM ORBIT SANDER See Figure 1. Before attempting to use this product, familiarize yourself with all operating features and safety rules. ADJUST ABLE FRONT HANDLE For ease of operation, the front handle can be adjusted using the supplied hex key .
10 OPERA TION WARNING: Do not allow familiarity with tools to make you careless. Remember that a careless fraction of a second is sufficient to inflict sever e injury . WARNING: Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields when operating tools.
11 OPERA TION A TT ACHING HOOK AND LOOP SANDING DISC See Figure 3. T o attach hook and loop sanding disc: Unplug the sander. Align the holes in the sanding disc with the holes in the hook and loop backing pad. Press the sanding disc against the backing pad as firmly as possible.
12 1-1/4" 2-1/2" OPERA TION Fig. 6 DUST BAG A TT ACHING THE DUST BAG See Figure 6. The dust bag provides a dust collection system for the sander . Sanding dust is drawn up through the holes of the sanding disc and collected in the dust bag during sanding.
