8 WARNING: T o prevent accidental starting that could cause serious personal injury , always disconnect the engine spark plug wire fr om the spark plug when assembling parts. POSITIONING THE HANDLEBAR See Figure 2. Loosen the two handlebar knobs. Unfold the handlebar into operating position.
9 Fig. 3 INST ALLING THE WHEEL ASSEMBL Y ACCESSOR Y See Figures 3 - 4. Use the wheel assembly accessory to transport the unit to and from the work ar ea. T o install: Raise the adjustment knob located at the back of the tine shield. Twist slightly to secure in the raised position.

11 WARNING: Do not allow familiarity with tools to make you care- less. Remember that a careless fraction of a second is sufficient to inflict serious injury . WARNING: Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields when operating tools.
12 OPERA TION Fig. 10 Fig. 12 Fig. 11 PRIMER BULB Slowly push the primer bulb seven times. NO TE: If re sta rti ng a war m eng ine , do not push the prim er bulb. Set the start lever to the START position. NOTE: If restarting a warm engine, leave the choke in the RUN position.
13 pressure on the handlebar for more shallow cultivating. If the machine stays and digs in one spot, try rocking the unit from side to side to start it moving forwar d again. If the soil is very hard, water a few days befor e cultivating. Avoid working the soil when soggy or wet.
14 ADJUSTMENTS WARNING: T o pr event accidental starting that could cause serious personal injury , always disconnect the spark plug wire when making adjustments. ADJUSTING WHEEL POSITION See Figures 15 - 17. The wheel position of the unit is adjustable.
15 MAINTENANCE WARNING: When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause product damage. WARNING: Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields during power tool operation or when blowing dust.
16 MAINTENANCE T o replace the spark arr estor: Remove the five screws that hold the cover. Note: Removing these screws requires the use of a T20 and T25 torx screwdriver. Remove the cover. Remove the muffler assembly and muffler gasket. It may be necessary to work the muffler assembly free from the muffler gasket.
17 Air Filter: Clean the air filter as previously described. Cultivator Body: Cl ean di rt , g ras s, an d o the r m at eri als f rom th e e nt ire un it. Wip e the tines with oil or spra y them with silic one lubri can t to prevent rusting.
18 TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEM CAUSE REMEDY Engine fails to start. Engine switch is in the off position. No fuel in tank. Spark plug shorted or fouled. Spark plug is broken (cracked porcelain or electr odes broken). Ignition lead wire shorted, br oken, or disconnected from spark plug.
