7 G et started First st eps to operati ng your phone SIM card information When you subscribe to a cellular network, you receive a plug-in SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card loaded with your subscripti on details, suc h as your PIN, and available optional services.

19 En t e r t e xt AB, T9, Number, and Symbol mode Y ou can enter text for some features, such as messaging, Phonebook, or Ca lendar , using AB m ode, T9 mode, Number mo de , and Symbol mode . Changing the text input mode • Press and hold [ ] to switch between T9 mode ( ) and AB mode ( ).

21 2. Press [ 0 ] to display alternative words for your key presses. When there are no more alternativ e words, Add appears on the bottom line. 3. Press < Add >. 4. Enter the word you want using AB mod e and press < OK >. Using Number mode Number mode enables y ou to enter numbers .

Making a call from Phonebook Once you have stored a number in Phonebook, you can dial the number by selecting it from Phonebook. p. 2 7 Y ou can also use the speed dia l feature to assign your most frequently called numbers to specific number keys.
Call functio ns 23 3. Press [ ] to dial the number you want. Using the headset Use the headset to m ake or answer calls without holding the pho ne. Connect the heads et to the jac k on the left side of the phone. The button on the headset works as listed below: Options during a call Y ou can access a number of functions during a ca ll.

25 • Transfer : transfer the currently active call to a caller on hold. The two ca llers can talk to each other , but you are disconnected from the call. • Join : set up a m ulti-party call b y adding a caller on hold to a currently active call. Y ou can include up to 5 people on a multi-party call.

Menu functions Phonebook (Men u 2) 27 T o reset the call timers, press < Reset >. Y ou need to enter the phone pass word. Call cost (Menu 1.7) This network feature displays the cost of calls. This menu is available only if supported by your SIM card.
28 Menu functions Using Phonebook options While viewing contact de tails, press < Options > to access the following options: • Edit : edit contact information. • Send message : send an SMS or MMS message to the selec ted number . • Copy to : copy the contact to the phone ’ s memory or to the SIM card.
Menu functions Phonebook (Men u 2) 29 Group (Menu 2.3) Use this menu to organise your contacts in caller groups. Creating a new caller group 1. Press < Option s > and select Add . 2. Ent er a nam e for th e grou p . 3. Select the caller ID line and set an image.
30 Menu functions Managing speed dial entries From the Speed dial screen, press < Options > to access the following options: • Add : assign a number to an unassigned key . • View : check the name and num ber assigned to a key . • Change : assign a different numbe r to a key .

A wake-up alarm is not affected by your sound settings. Setting an al arm 1. Select the type of alarm. 2. Set each alarm opti on: • Alarm : activ ate the a larm.

SIM AT (Menu 3.9) This menu is available if you use a SIM A T card that supports SIM Application T ool kit menus and provides additional servi ces, such as news, weather , sports, entertainme nt, and locati on services.
Menu functions Browser (Menu 4) 37 • Reloa d : reload the current page with updated information. • Home : return to the hom epage. • Go to URL : enter a URL address manually . • Show URL : display the UR L address of the current web page. Y ou can also se t the current page as the homepage for the web br owser or a bookmark.
38 Menu functions http:// (Menu 4.3) Use this menu to manually enter a URL address and access the associated w eb page. WAP profile (Menu 4.4) Use this menu to select a co nnection profile to be used for access ing the wirel ess web. Y ou can also add or edit a profile.
