Clearing paper jams To avoid tearing the paper, pull the jammed paper out slowly and carefully.
Troubles hooting _ 77 1. Gently pull the paper out the outp ut tray. If you do not see the jammed paper or if there is any resistance when you pull, stop and go to the next step. 2. To remove the jammed paper, ope n the rear cover. 3. Carefully remove the paper by pulling in the direction as shown b elow.

Troubles hooting _ 81 Printing quality problems If the inside of the machine is dirty or paper has been loa ded improperly, you may notice a reducti on in print quality. See the table below to clear the problem. The machine prints, but the text is wrong, garbled, or incomplete.
Troubles hooting _ 82 The top half of th e paper is printed lighter than the rest of the paper The toner might not adhere properl y to this type of paper. • Ch ange the printer option and try again. Go to the Printin g Preferences , click the Paper tab, and set th e paper type to Recycled .

Try printi ng with a fresh ream of paper. Do not open packages of paper until necessary so that the paper does not absorb too mu ch moisture .
