Getting Started 5 Ins tal lin g th e Memor y Car d Y our device lets you use a microSD ™ (SD ) or microSDHC ™ card to expand av ailable memor y spa ce. This secure digital card enables you to exchange imag es, mu sic, and data between SD-compatible devices.
6 Using the T r av el Adapter T o use the travel adapter to charge your battery , follow the se steps: 1. Carefully slide the Outlet Conne ctor into the Charging Head (1). Make sure the co nnection is secure. 2. Connect the USB cable to the Charging Head (2).

30 Section 3: Entering T e xt This section describes how to select the desired text input method when entering characters into your tablet. This section also describes the pred ictive text entry syst em that reduces the amount of key stro kes associat ed with entering text.
Entering T ext 31 Changing the T e xt Input Mode - K eypad There are two main k eypad layout keys tha t will change th e on- screen keys w ithin the QW ERTY keypa d. The avai lable T ext Input modes are: Sym and Abc . Note: When in Abc mode , the Sym button will appear .
32 Using Symbol/Numeric Mode Use Symbol/Numeric Mode to add numbers, symbols, or emoticons. 1. Rotate your ta blet counterclockwise to a La ndscape orientatio n. 2. Ta p at the bottom of the scre en. The fo llow ing screen displays: 3. T ap the desired number , symbol, or em oticon charact ers.
Entering T ext 33 5. Begin typing a word. A list of word options is displayed. T a p one of the words to replace the word that has already been typed or tap fo r more word choices. 6. Continue typing your me ssage. T a p to send the message or tap for more options.
34 • Double-tap on the word you want to change to correct a missp elled word, then tap the delete key to e rase one character . T ouch and hold the delete key to e rase an entire word.
Contacts 35 Section 4: Contacts This section allows you to manage your daily contacts by storing their name and number in your Co ntact list. Contact entries can be sorted by name, entry , or group.
36 The keypad is displayed. The Wo r k button initia lly displ ays nex t to the Email address field. If you want to ad d an Email address tha t is not a Home emai l address, tap the Wor k button and select from Home, W ork, Mobile, Othe r , or Custom (add your own label).
Contacts 37 T o add a pause or a wait to a Contact: 1. From the Home s creen, tap ➔ Contacts , and then tap the name or number to open the Contact. 2. Ta p Edit . 3. T a p the phone number field. 4. T a p the screen at the position where the pause or wait needs to be added.

40 Synchronizing Accounts From the Accounts men u you decide if you want applications to synchronize, send, and receive data at any given time, or if yo u want the applica tions to sync hronize a utomatically . After determining how you wa nt the accounts to sy nchronize, indicate which account to synchronize with your Contacts list.
Contacts 41 – Choose co ntacts to display : T ap Ta b l e t to only display certain groups or All Other Contacts. T ap any other account you m ay have, such as Facebook to display All con tacts. • Delete contacts : allows you to tap on each contact that you want to de lete.

Changing Y our Settings 67 WPS Button Conn ection The WPS (Wi-F i Protected Se tup) button is a standard for easy and secure wireless network set up and conn ections. T o use WPS, the connecti ng device must supp ort WPS and be compatible with Wi-Fi Protecte d Access (WP A) security .
68 Scan De vices This option allows you to scan fo r active Bluetoot h dev ices so you can pair with them. 1. From the Home screen, tap ➔ Settings ➔ Wireless and network ➔ Bluetooth settings and tap Scan devices . Y our tablet begins scanning and lists any discovered devices in the Bluet ooth devices section.

T o stop a service from running on your tablet: 1. From the Home screen, tap ➔ Settings ➔ Applications ➔ Running serv ices .

82 Select input m ethod There are two input methods av ailable: Swype and Samsung keypad. Samsung keypad is the default text input method. 1. From the Home screen, tap ➔ Settings ➔ Locale and text ➔ Select input me thod . 2. Select either Swype or Sa msung keypad and follow the instructions below .
