11 Your Phone 10 Your Phone Display Display Layout The display comprises of three areas. Area Description First line Displays various icons (see below). Middle lines Display messages, instructions and any information that you enter (number to be dialled, for example).
13 Your Phone 12 Your Phone Backlight The display and keypad are illuminated by a backlight. When you press any key, the backlight illuminates. It turns off if no key is pressed within a given period of time, depending on the Backlight option set in the Phone Settings menu.
14 Your Phone 15 Getting Started Installing the SIM Card and the Battery • Keep all miniature SIM cards out of the reach of small children. • The SIM card and its contacts can easily be damaged by scratches or bending, so be careful when handling, inserting or removing the card.

If the Mute keys option is selected, your phone does not transmit the key tones. 47 Entering Text 46 Entering Text The cursor moves to the right when you press a different key. When entering the same letter twice (or a different letter on the same key), just wait for a few seconds for the cursor to move right automatically , and enter the next letter .

These functions are arranged in menus and sub-menus, accessed via the two soft keys ( and ). Each menu and sub- menu allows you to view and alter the settings of a particular function.

55 Call Records Via this menu, you can view the phone calls: • Missed • Received • Dialled The number and name (if available) are displayed together with the date and time at which the call was made. Y ou can also view call times and costs. Missed Calls Menu 1-1 Lets you view the last 10 unanswered calls.

These messages are called ‘Picture Messages’, several of which are preset in the phone and can be replaced with new ones received from other sources.

Discard: allows you to discard the picture message without saving it. Cut Number: allows you to extract a number from the picture message, so that you can call the number or save it in the phonebook.
67 Voice Functions Y ou can use the V oice feature to customize various settings, such as the: • V oice Dial • V oice Command • V oice Memo V oice Dial Menu 3-1 The voice dialling feature allows you to make phone calls by saying a voice tag that has been added to a desired name and phone number .

Refer to melody composer (Menu 4-2) for details. • Downloading ringing tones via PC Link and cable This method can change 12 changeable 16poly entries in the predefined ringingtones.

119 Additional Services ALS(Alternate Line Service) Note : Please contact your service provider to check the availability of this feature and how to subscribe to ALS. The ALS feature enables two lines to be associated with one SIM card. Consequently , you can make and receive calls on either line as required.
