7 Getting star ted Use this device t o play multimedia files on large scr eens that suppor t the H igh Definition Multimedia Inter face (HDMI). Y ou can also save and share files with family members via the Home cloud storage .

F or better picture quality , follow the on-screen instructions when setting up the device f or the first time and select a screen aspec t ratio t o fit the original screen.
Getting star ted 12 C onnec ting to a smar tphone Connect and regist er the device to a smartphone. Y ou can upload and download content , add and manage multiple user accounts , use it as a remote contr ol for the screen ( T V or monitor), and more .
Getting star ted 13 When y our smar tphone does not suppor t the NFC fea ture Y ou can connec t the device to y our smar tphone via the Bluetooth feature when the smar tphone does not suppor t the NFC featur e.
Getting star ted 14 Resetting the device If your device is fro zen or unresponsive , press and hold the P ower butt on for mor e than 8 seconds. Resetting may disconnect the device from y our smar tphone. Connect the device to your smartphone again via the NFC feature or the Bluet ooth featur e.
15 Basics C ontrolling a scr een Contr ol a screen ( T V or monitor) by using y our smar tphone as a mouse or a remote contr ol. T ap HomeSync → on your smartphone, and then switch to con trol mode y ou want. • A vailable contr ol modes may var y depending on the smar tphone you use .
Basics 16 Using the cursor mode Contr ol the screen by touching the con trol pad and scr olling lists with the scroll cursors . Switch to the butt on mode. Launch the T V application. Switch to the mirr or mouse mode. Using the mirr or mouse T ap . The monitor scr een appears on your smar tphone.

Basics 21 Applica tions screen The Applications scr een displays icons f or applications, including an y new applications installed. Icons f or recently-used applica tions appear at the bottom of the screen. On the Home screen, select Apps . When a new panel is added due to newly installed application, mo ve to another panel by dragging right.
Basics 22 Setting up acc ounts Google applications, such as Play St ore , requir e a Google account, and Samsung Apps requir es a Samsung account. C reate Google and Samsung acc ounts to ha ve the best experience with the device .
Basics 23 T ransf erring files Once HomeSync is activated , photos and videos taken with register ed devices (such as smar tphones and cameras) are uploaded t o the device automatically . Y ou can also connect a USB storage device t o transfer media files.
Basics 24 4 Remove the micr oUSB cable from the device. • Do not remov e the microUSB cable from the device while transf err ing files. Doing so may r esult in the loss of data or damage to your devic e. • Do not disconnect the device from a computer while the c omputer is playing a file stored on y our device.
Basics 25 Setting a private st orage The device pr ovides shared, personal , and private stor age. An administr ator or each guest can creat e a secure sector by setting a passw ord f or one ’ s private storage . T o set a passwor d for the privat e storage, tap HomeSync → Private on your smartphone.
Basics 26 C onnec ting to a W i-F i network Connect the device to a W i-Fi network to use the Internet or shar e media files with other devices. T urning Wi-F i on and off On the Applications screen, select Settings → Wi - Fi , and then drag the Wi - Fi switch to the right.
27 W eb & netw ork Internet Use this application to br owse the Internet. Selec t Internet on the Applications screen. V iewing webpages Selec t the address field , enter the web address , and then selec t Go . View y our bookmar ks, sa ved pages, and r ecent Internet histor y .
W eb & network 28 Histor y Selec t → Book marks → Histor y to open a webpage fr om the list of recently-visit ed webpages . T o clear the history , selec t → Clear history . Selec t → Book marks → Histor y → Most visited to open a webpage fr om the list of most visited webpages .
W eb & network 29 Screen Mirroring Use this application to shar e your smar tphone ’ s display on a connected monitor . Some smar tphones may be incompatible with the devic e. Using Scr een Mirroring on the device On the Applications screen, select Screen Mirroring .
30 Media Music Pla yer Use this application to list en to music. Selec t Music Play er on the Applications screen. • Some file formats are not supported depending on the device ’ s sof tware v ersion. • Some files may not play pr operly depending on the encoding method used.
Media 31 Crea ting playlists Make an own selection of songs. Selec t → New playlist , and then enter a title . S elect OK . T o add the currently-pla ying song to a playlist, select → Add t o playlist . Pla ying music by mood Play music g rouped by mood .
