Phone Ba sics 2A. Phone Basics 7 Key Functions 1. Status Bar Icons provide information about your phone’ s status and options, such as signal strength, roaming, ringer setting, messaging, and batter y charge.
8 2A. Phone Ba sics 9. END/POWER Key ( ) lets you turn the phone on or off, end a call, or return to standby mode. While in the main menu, it returns the phone to standby mode an d cancels your input. When you receive an incoming call, press to enter ignore/reject the call.
Phone Ba sics 2A. Phone Basics 9 3G Data Receiving – 1xRTT data service is receiving data. 3G Data Dormant – Data service is currently dormant. Battery – Shows your current battery char ge level. (Icon shown is fully charge d.) Low battery – Shows your current batte r y charge level is low.
10 2A. Phone Basics T ur ning Y o ur Phone On and Off T urning Y our Phone On 1. Flip the ph one open. 2. Press and hold for two seconds. Once your phone is on, it will look for a signal. When your phone finds a signal, it enters standby mo de – the phone’s idle state.
Phone Ba sics 2A. Phone Basics 11 T urning Y our Phone Off 1. Press and hold for two seconds until you see the powering-down animation on the d i splay screen. 2. Flip the phone closed. Y our screen remains blank while your phone is off (u nless the battery is charging).
12 2A. Phone Basics 2. Insert the battery in to the opening, making sure to line up the gold contacts (3). Gently press down to secure the battery (4). 3. Replace the cover by lining up the tabs and then firmly sliding the cover away from the lens until it snaps into place.

With the approved Li-I on battery , you can re charge the battery before it becomes completely run down. Navigating Through the Menus The navigation key on your phone lets you scroll through onscreen items.

Dial speed dial entries using one keypress for locations 2–9 or two keypresses for locations 10–99. 24 2A. Phone Basics Entering T ext Using Alpha Mode In Alpha mode, also known as mu lti-tap entry , you pre ss keys one, two, three, or four times to enter the letters you see on the keypad. The ABC mode is indicated a the bottom-right of the tex t screen.

28 2B . Settings Sound Settings Ringer T ypes Ringer types help you identify incoming calls and messages. Y ou can assign ringer types to indi vidual Contacts entries, types of calls, and types of messages. 䢇 Downloaded Ringers can be downloaded right to your phone.

Settings 2B. Settings 33 Changing the T e xt Greeting A text greeting is displayed on your phone’s screen in standby mode. Choose the phone’s default greeting or enter your own custom greeting. 1. Press > Settings > Display > Main Screen > Foregrounds > Greeting .
34 2B . Settings Changing the Phone’ s Menu Style Choose the layout of your phone’ s menu. 1. Press . 2. Press the left softkey to cycle thru the available menu styles. 䡲 GRID VIEW to view the menu as a grid. 䡲 LIST VIEW to display the menu as a list.
Settings 2B. Settings 35 When you turn the Location feature on, the phone display s the icon. When you turn Location off, the phone displays the icon. Messaging Settings Y our phone’s advanced messaging capabilities le t you send and receive many different kinds of t e xt messages without placing a voice call.
36 2B . Settings Press Options (right softkey) > Delete to delete the message. (Selecting Delete All deletes any custom preset me s sages and restores the system standard set of preset messages.) T o add a new pr eset message: 1. Press > Settings > Messages > Preset Messages .

Settings 2B. Settings 39 Auto Answer Mode Set your phone to automatically pick up incoming calls when connected to an option al hands-free car kit. 1. Press > Settings > More ... > Call Setup > Auto Answer . 2. Highlight an option and press .
40 2B . Settings Y our Phone’ s Lock Feature Locking Y our Phone When your phone is locked, you can only receive incoming calls or make calls to 911 or special numbers. (See “Special Numbers” on page 40.) 1. Press > Settings > More ... > Restrict and Lock > Lock my Phone .

(Additional charges may apply .) Follow the basic steps below to access and download these items.
