Page 4 March 2005 Revision B 1.1 INTRODUCTION & OPENING THE P RODUCT PA CKA GE For protection dur ing transi t the Avanti is packed in a cardboar d carton, together with Gui dance Information. The chair is suppl ied fully assembl ed in the folded condition.
Page 5 March 2005 Revision B The Avanti can be opened by the follow ing seq uence of operations. • Remove chai r from packing usi ng seat handle. • Lift push handle. • Lock backrest and push handle into position by pulling cable up and locating pins in hing e bracket.
Page 6 March 2005 Revision B W hen folding the chair after use, pl ace a foot on one of the tipping lev ers, and gr ip the push bar w ith both hands. Pull the push bar upwar ds and the front and back fram es will fold to gether.
Page 7 March 2005 Revision B 1 . 4 F O O T R E S T S : The footrest is a simple frame whi ch swi vels and folds for storage. W hen in use the footrest should be pivoted to the outw ard locked position. Footrest heig ht is not adjustable. Diagr am shows footrest in outw ard locked position.
Page 8 March 2005 Revision B 1 . 6 W H E E L S All the w heels on the Avanti have punctur e f ree polyur e thane tyres. They are fitted with sealed roller bearing s for life, and reliability, and should not need lubricati on by the user under normal condi tions.
