5 Using A No n-Suppor ted Batt er y Samsung handsets do not accept the use of a non-supported battery . When using a non-supported battery , you will hear a series of beeps and you will see a warn ing message that indicates: “ NON-SUPPOR TED BA TTER Y .

T o access the keyboard, rotate the phone 90 degrees to the left and slide the p hone up. When you slide t he phone open, th e display rotates f rom a portrait viewing mode to a landscape viewing mode.

The Annunciator Line , which is the top line of your phone’ s display , shows icons that indi cate network status, battery power , signal strength, co nnection type and more. 2. The Widget Bar Ta b displays the Widget Bar when touched.
21 D signal strength : Appears when your phone is receiving digital data. A ppears when your phone is on and indicates the current sig nal strength. More bars indicate a stronger signal. SSL : Indicates the secure socket layer is ac tively transmitting your communication s over the internet in an encrypted forma t.

41 Recent Calls Dialed, missed, and receiv ed calls are save d in Recent Calls, including a set of timers for th ese calls. These categori es are listed below . • Missed : Displays any m issed calls. • Received : Displays any received calls that were answered.

Call Functions 44 Roam in g Wha t is R oamin g? Y our Rogue ™ can roam on other comp atible digital networks. Roaming occurs whe n you travel outside a pre -designated coverage area. The ro aming icon displays when roam ing is active. Extra charges may apply when making or receiving calls.
45 V oice Commands Voice Commands is advanced speech recognition software that can be use d to activa te a wide variety of functions on your Rogue ™ . Vo ice Commands software automa tically voice activates all c ontacts for vo ice dialing and searching, no pre- recording or training needed.
Call Functions 46 2. After a brief pause, a list of optional commands appears in the display and the audio pr ompt "Please say a command" plays through the speakerphone. Say “Call” at a distance of 3-12 inches from the phone in a natural voice.
47 4. Say the name e xactly as it is displayed in your Contacts list, or say the phone num ber of the recipient. Note: In case various numbers are displayed, “ Which Number? ” will display in the Listening menu option. 5. The contact name or number appears in the T o: field.

73 Section 7: Messaging This section explains how to send or receive different types of messages. It al so includes the features and functional ity associated with messaging. Types of Messages Y our phone is capable of sending Em ail, text, picture, video, and voice messages.
Messaging 74 • Auto Erase Inbox : Erases the oldest m essage of the same typ e (T ext or Pict ure) when the ma ximum number of received messages of that type is exceed ed in the Inbox. For exa mple, When t he Inb ox exceeds 100 text messages, the fi rst message i n the list i s replaced with the ne xt incomin g messag e .

Messaging 76 Creating and Sending Picture Messa ges Note: Only available within Verizon Wire less Enhanced Ser vices Area. Picture Messages combines text, pi cture, and sound. This is also known as Multimedia Messaging (MMS). Note: Sliding the QWERTY keyboard open immediately after taking a picture opens a New Picture Message screen.

From the Home screen, touch Mes sage ➔ 2. Messages . 2. T ouch the thread you wish to review then touch a message within the thread.
