6 Section 1 Activ ating Y our Phone When you subscribe to a cellular network, you are pr ovided with a plug-in SIM car d loaded with your subscripti on details, such as yo ur PIN, any optional services available, and many others.
Section 1: Getting Started 7 Activating Y our Phone Section 1 5. Slide the SIM card in to the SI M card socket so that the card locks into place. Make sure the gold contacts of the card face into the phone. Note: When you need to remove the SIM card, slide it, as shown, and tak e it out of the socket.
8 Section 1 6. Place the b attery so that the 3 brass tabs on the e nd align with the 3 brass prong s at the bottom of the ba tter y compartment (1). T he arrow on the battery should be pointin g down. Press the battery down until it c licks into place (2).

34 Section 3 Silent mode Silent mode is convenient when you wish to stop the phone fr om making noise, in a theater for example. In Idle mo de, pr ess and hold the key until the “Silent mode on” messa ge and the Silent mode icon display . In Sile nt mode, instea d of soun ds, your phone will vibrate.

Y ou can also save it to your SIM card or you can set your default so that whenever a new phonebook entry is cr eated, you will be pr ompted to choose be tween Ph one or SIM card .

Section 7: Messages 91 Sentbox Section 7 3. When you ar e finished , press the key . Sentbox This message box stores messages that you have sent. When you enter this me nu, the list of messages in the box displays with the reci pients’ phone numbers or names, if av ailable in your Phonebook.
92 Section 7 Outbox This message box stores messages that you have attempted to send but have no t actually been se nt yet. When you enter this menu, th e li st of messages in the box disp lays with the reci pients’ phone numbers or names, if availa ble in your Phonebook.
Section 7: Messages 93 Draft s Section 7 Drafts This message box stor es messages that you may want to edit or send at a later time. When you enter this me nu, the list of messages in the box displays. Note: By pressing the Left or Right Naviga tion keys, you may scroll between Inbox, Sentbox, Outbox, and Drafts.
