This icon is displayed when the phone is Off or cannot find service. Indicates that GPS (Globa l Positioning System) is active.

Chapter 3 - P ersonal Settings 33 Block Recognizer This input method uses the tr aditional writing area bo x split in the middle. The left si de is used to wr ite letters and the right side is f or nu mber entry . Symbols and common funct ions are located in othe r smaller box es located to the right of the wr iting bo x area.
Chapter 3 - P ersonal Settings 34 Letter Recognizer This option allows you to enter text using your own handwriting. The screen is divided into three diff erent areas. A capitol lett er area, sma ll letter area , and a number area. Cha racters are ente red by printing lett ers in each area.
