6 Section 1 Activ ating Y our Phone When you subscribe to a cellular network, you are pr ovided with a plug-in SIM card loaded with your subscripti on details, such as yo ur PIN, any optional services available, and many others.
Section 1: Getting Started 7 Activating Y our Phone Section 1 4. Grasp the top of the battery with your finger and lift up in the directi on of the arro w . Remove the batter y . 5. Slide the SIM card in to the SI M card socket so tha t the card locks into place.

32 Section 3 Silent mode Silent mode is convenient when you wish to stop the phone fr om making noise, in a theater for example. In Idle mode, pr ess and hold the key until the “Silent mode on” messa g e and the Silent mode icon ( ) display . In Sile nt mode, instea d of soun ds, your phone will vibrate.

34 Section 3 Options Durin g a Call Y our phone provides a numb er of cont rol function s that you can use during a call. Switch to phone/Switch to headset (Bluetooth only) Y ou can use this option to switch between us ing your Bluetooth headset and using your phone’s earpiece and micr ophone without interrupting the call in pr ogress.
Section 3: Call Functions 35 Selecting Functions and Options Section 3 Example: Y ou wish to s ay somethin g to a person in the r oom but do not want the person on the phone to hear you. T o swit ch the micr ophone of f temporarily: 1. Press the Options soft key and highligh t the Mute option.

52 Section 5 Changing the T ext Input Mode When using yo ur phone, you wi ll often need to enter text, such as when stori ng a name in your Phonebook, cr eating your personal gr eeting or scheduli ng events on your calendar . Y ou can enter alphan umeric characters by using your phone’s keypad.

Y ou can also save it to your SIM card or you can set your default so that whenever a new phonebook entry is created, you will be pr ompted to choose between Ph one or SI M card .
