T o reduce the risk of electric shoc k, this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one wa y . If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet.
T O ASSEMBLE 1. Check to see if the dust bag is in place, the bag lid will not close without a bag in place. 2. Insert the hose into unit until it locks into place. 3 . Attach wands to the hose handle and floor nozzle by pushing and twisting together.
H I J E G F D A B C How T o Use A carpet should be cleaned regularly over heavily traveled areas, and once a week over the entire carpeted area. Vacuum slowly, making several passes (forward and backward) over the carpet, covering small areas at a time.
Cleaning Accessories Open the Slip Ring to reduce suction. Pull up to open, push down to close. Combination Floor T ool Switch Upper W and Combination Floor T ool : For bare floor cleaning push firmly on the back of the s witch to engage floor bristles.
HO W T O MAINT AIN The instructions given in this booklet serve as a guide to routine maintenance. To avoid unnecessary service calls, check the hose, bag and filter often. Change the bag if it is full, and clean the motor filter when it is dirty. NOTE: Turn off the switch and unplug the electrical cord before servicing the vacuum.
Changing/Cleaning the Filters The filters play a very important role in the efficiency of the vacuum cleaner. If the filters become clogged, no air can pass through the cleaner and no cleaning takes place regardless of how powerful the unit. To keep the cleaner operating at maximum efficiency, check the filters frequently and clean when necessary.
