Plug the AC adapter into the lower front of the mac hine. T o start using your Schwinn ® elliptical trainer , stand on the foot pedals, with the front of your shoes close to the front edge of the foot platform. Place your hands at a comfortable position on the upper body arms.

Computer Console Design Bef ore we discuss using the specific functions of the computer , let’ s get familiar with the display , the diff erent f eatures, and various but tons located on the console. Computer Featur es LCD Display The large LCD (Liquid Cr ystal Display) screen located in the center of the console is your information center .
USING THE 430 COMPUTER LCD Display Descr iptions TIME Display s the workout TIME. The TIME will count down from the TIME you entered when beginning the program and shows the TIME remaining for your workout. INTERV AL TIME Displays the INTERV AL TIME.
USING THE 430 COMPUTER A uto Shut-Off (Sleep Mode) The console will automatically shut of f in approximately 2 minutes without use or input. There is no on/of f switc h. (Press any but ton to power up the console and “ENTER PRO GR A M” appears in the alphanumeric display .
SOFTWARE FEA TURES Quick Start: This is a “ one-touc h” way of st arting the Manual Program. 1 Manual Program: Y ou manually adjust the resist ance lev el during your work out to make the program easier or more challenging.

CONSOLE OPERA TION Console Operation – Quick Start QUICK ST ART : Press QUICK ST ART to t ake you immediately to the Manual program. Resistance level will be Lev el 1 . Time will start from 00:0 0 and count up. Changing Levels: Y ou can increase or decrease the resist ance lev el by pressing the UP or DOWN but tons at any time.
T o ST OP or P AUSE the progr am: Press the ST ART / P A USE but ton to stop or pause your work out. The display will show “PRESS RESUL T OR PRESS ST ART” .
