We are certain you will find this product a useful video presentation tool that is highly suitable for your business and multim edia applications. To get you started, this chapter briefly describes what the AVerKey 300 has to offer.

6 Chapter 2 Hardware Installation and Setup This chapter will show you how to install the AVerKey 300 t o a n I B M compatible PC, Macintosh com puter and NEC PC. Connecting AVerKey300 to the Computer and Monitor The ports on the back panel of the AVerKey 300 are for connecting the converter to the system unit and graphics display m onitor.

AVerMedia AVerKey300 User’s Manual 10 Connecting the TV To display the computer screen on TV (or any video monitor), you will need to connect the TV to one of the ports at the AVerKey 300 side panel. If the TV set uses the composite video standard, connect the TV to the AVerKey 300 “VIDEO” port using the supplied AV Cable .
11 Chapter 3 Using the AVerKey300 This chapter will show you how to use the Remote Control Unit and Touch Button Control Panel of the AVerKey 300 . At the end of this chapter, you will find details on using the special highlighting and zoom functions of the AVerKey 300 .
AVerMedia AVerKey300 User’s Manual 12 POWER : Switches the AVerKey 300 on/off. RESET : Restores the AVerKey 300 to original factory settings. AREA ZOOM : Provides quick selection of the screen area to magnify. The Area Zoom function divides the computer image on the TV into 9 parts and allows you to select the desired part to zoom.
Chapter 3 Using the AVerKey300 13 OVERSCAN : Toggles between Underscan and Overscan . Overscan displays the computer im age on TV to the fullest. The image will be chopped off at the borders when displayed this way. When you switch to Underscan , the computer image will be com pletely displayed on TV.

Chapter 3 Using the AVerKey300 15 Touch Button Panel The figure and descriptions below show you how to use the Touch Button Panel on the hardware case. POWER : Switches the AVerKey 300 on/off. OVERSCAN : Toggles between Underscan and Overscan . (Refer to the section, Using the Remote Control , for more details on this function.

The figure and descriptions below show what each LED indicator in this panel represents. FREEZE : This LED shows whether FR EEZE or UNFREEZE is in operation.
Chapter 3 Using the AVerKey300 17 Special Highlighting Functions The AVerKey 300 provides 3 special functions for highlighting key points in any presentation : AVerMedia Spot , AVerMedia Pointer and AVerMedia Spylight . You can use these functions by pressing the corresponding buttons on the remote control.
AVerMedia AVerKey300 User’s Manual 18 Changing the Size of the Highlight You can adjust the size of the "spotlight", that is, the highlighted area. Use the WIDTH and HEIGHT buttons to create a highlight as large as 1/4th of your screen or as small as 1/64th of your presentation screen.
Chapter 3 Using the AVerKey300 19 Extending the Point into a Line If you have a very large audience, the Point on your presentation screen might not look obvious and clear enough. You can extend the Point into a Line : Use the WIDTH buttons to extend the point into a line or change the line back into a point.
AVerMedia AVerKey300 User’s Manual 20 AVerMedia Spylight Using AVerMedia Spylight resembles the way you highlight parts of your presentation with an overhead proj ector. With Spy light, you can highlight any portion you want and "cover" the rest by darkening areas which you do not want to show to your audience.

AVerMedia AVerKey300 User’s Manual 22 Different Types of Zoom The AVerKey 300 provides 4 types of zoom : Normal Zoom, AVerMedia Area Zoom, AVerMedia Spot-Zoom , and AVerMedia Pointer-Zoom . Normal Zoom Normal Zoom allows you to zoom in (200%) the computer screen on TV display.
Chapter 3 Using the AVerKey300 23 Choose which part you want to zoom, and then press one of the 9 directional buttons on the remote that corresponds to that area. Example : To pan around the zoomed area, press the PAN/POS button to change to PAN mode.

25 Chapter 4 Troubleshooting This chapter provides many useful tips on how to solve comm on problem s while using the AVerKey 300 . There is no picture on my TV. 1. Check all the connectors agai n as shown in this manual. 2. Check y our TV remote contro l on/off switch and channel setting.
