4 The SK P 500 G2 plug -on transmitter The SKP 500 G2 plug-on transm itter is part of the evolution wireless series ew 500 G2. With this series, Sennheiser offers high-quality st ate-of-the-art RF transmission systems with a high level of operat ional reliability and ease of use.
5 Safety instructions Never open an electr onic unit! If units are opened by customers in breach of this instruction, the warranty becomes null and void. Use the unit in dry rooms only. Use a damp cl oth for cleaning the u nit. Do not u se any cleansing agents or solvents.
6 Areas of application The plug- on transmi tter ca n be combin ed with receivers of the ew 500 G2 seri es (EM 5 00 G2 rack-mount receiver or EK 500 G2 bodypack receiver). The receivers are available in the same five UHF frequenc y ranges and are equipped with the same channel bank system with factory-preset frequencies.

12 Using the plug-on transmitter Switching the plug-on transmitter on/off The transmitter can only be switched off when the sta ndard display is shown on the d isplay panel. When in the operating menu, briefly pressing the ON / OFF button wil l cancel your entry (ESC func tion) and return you to the standard display with th e last stored settings.
13 Set the MU TE switch back to th e original position to retransm it the audio signal. Activ ating/de activa ting t he loc k mode The tra nsmitter has a lock mo de that can b e activate d or deactivated via the operating me nu (see “Activating / deactiva ting the lock mod e” on page 23).
14 The o perati ng menu A special feature o f the Sennheiser ew 500 G2 series is the similar, int uitive operat ion of t ransmitter s and rece ivers. As a result, adjustments to the settings can be made quickly and “witho ut looking” – even in stressful situa tions, for example on stage or during a live show or presentation.
15 W orking with the operating menu By way of example of the “ TUNE ” men u, thi s sectio n describes how to use t he operating menu. After switching the transmitter on, the stan dard display is shown on the displ ay panel. Getting into t he opera ting menu Press the SET button to get f rom the standar d display into the operati ng menu.
16 Storing a setti ng Press the SET bu tton to store the setti ng. “STORE D” appears on the display, indicating tha t the setting has been stored. The display then returns to th e top menu level. With most menus, new settings become effective immediat ely without havi ng to be stored.

19 Adjustment tips for the operating menu Switching between channel banks – BANK Via the “ BANK ” menu, you can switch between the transmi tter’s nine chan nel banks.
20 Use the / bu ttons to selec t the desire d transmissi on frequency. Transmission frequencies are tunable in 25-kHz steps within a switching bandwidth o f 36 MHz max. For interm odulation-free fr equencies, please refer to the enclosed frequency table.
21 Switching the phantom powering on/off – PHA NTO The plug-on transmitter can suppl y condenser microph ones without internal p ower sup ply with 48 V p hantom powering (P 48). The phantom powering can be switched on or off via the “ PHANTO ” menu .
22 Press the SET button to c hange to the next seg ment an d select the next c haracter. Have you ente red the name com pletely? Press th e SET button to store your setting and to retur n to the top menu level.
23 Activati ng/deactiv ating the loc k mode – LOCK Via the “ LO CK ” menu, you ca n activate or deactivate th e lock mode. The lock mode prevents that the transmitter is accidentally progra mmed or sw itched off duri ng opera tion. Th e lock mode ic on on the display indicates t hat the lock mo de is activated.
