10 Diversity d isplay The EM 300 G2 rec eiver operates o n the true divers ity principle (see “D iversi ty recept ion“ on pag e 39). The diversity displa y indicates w hether diver sity section I (i.e. anten na 1) or diversity sectio n II (i.e.
11 AF peak indi cation ( SK 300 G2 o nly) The yellow LED (AF PEAK) at the front of the SK 300 G2 lights up wh en the audio input level is excessively high (AF peak) and overmodulates the transmitter . At the sa me time, the 7-step le vel display for audio signal “AF ” show s full defl ection for the d urati on of th e over modu lation .
12 Preparing the components for use EM 300 G2 rack-mount receiver Mounting the receiver feet T o ensure th at the receiver cannot slip on the surf ace on which it is placed, four self-adhesive sof t rubber feet are supplied. Ensure that the base of the receiver is c lean before mounting the rubber feet.
13 Connecting the a mplifier/mixing console The EM 300 G2’s audio out puts are available as an XLR-3M socket and a ¼” (6.3 mm) j ack socket , allowing you to simultaneous ly connect two units (e.g. amplifier, mix ing console) . The adjusted audio output level is common f or both so ckets.
14 T o mount two EM 300 G2 into a rack: Place the two receivers side by side onto a flat surface, their bottom sides facing upwards. Align th e connecting pla te over the holes in th e bottom sides of the receiver s. Secure the connecting plate to the r eceivers using eight of the supplied recessed head screws (M 3x6).
15 SK 300 G2 bod ypack transmitter Inserting and replacing the bat teries For poweri ng the SK 3 00 G2 bo dypack tra nsmitter, us e two 1.5 V AA size batteries . Press the two unlocking buttons and open t he battery c ompartment cover . Insert the two batteries as shown in the diagram on the left.
16 Attaching the microphones Use the m icrophone clips to atta ch the ME 2 and ME 4 c lip-on microphones to clothing (e.g. tie, l apel). Adjust the ME 3 head mic so that a com fortable and secure fit is ensured. Positioning the micro phones The ME 3 and ME 4 microp hones are directional microphones, i.

19 Muting the transmitters Both tr ansmitters have a MUTE swi tch that noiselessl y mutes the transmitter ’s audio signa l without switchin g the transmit ter off. Muting the S K 300 G2 bodypack tr ansmitter Set the MUT E switch to the posit ion ’MUTE’.
20 The operating menu A special feature of the Sennheiser ew 300 G2 series is the si milar, intuitive operation. As a result, the units are easy to operate and adjustments to th e settings can be made quickly and “w ithout looking” – ev en in stressful situatio ns, for example on stage or during a live show or presen tation.
21 W orking with the operating menu By way of example of the “ Tune ” menu, this section desc ribes how to use the operat ing menu . After switching the unit on , the standa rd display is shown on the display panel. Getting into the operating menu Press the SET button to get from the standard display into the operating menu.

28 Adjustment tips for the operating menu Switching between channel banks BANK Bank Via the “ Bank ” menu, yo u can swi tch between th e nine ch annel banks.
29 Scanning the channel banks for free chann els (EM 300 G2 only) Scan Before putting one or several transmi ssion links into operation, you should scan the channel banks for free channels. Displaying the last scan result Select the “ Scan ” m enu.
30 Multi -channe l oper ation For mu lti-channel o peration, onl y use the free chan nels in a ch annel bank. Before putting the transmission li nks into opera tion, we re commend perfo rmi ng an au to s can. Scan a receiver for free cha nnels. Select a channel bank with a suffici ent number of free ch annels.
31 Adjusting the audio ou tp ut level (EM 300 G2 onl y) AF Out Via the “ AF Out ” menu, you can ad just the audio outp ut level of the rec eivers. The level can be adjusted in eight steps. Adapt th e level of the audio output (AF OUT) to the input of the connected unit.

33 Entering a na me NAME Nam e Via the “ Name ” menu, you can enter a freely selec table name for eac h transm itter and receiver. You can, fo r exam ple, enter the name of the performer for whom the adjustments have been made.
