6 CABLE TV (CA TV) CONNECTION • A 75 ohm coaxial cab le connector is b uilt into the set f or easy hookup . When connecting the 75 ohm coaxial cable to the set, scre w the 75 ohm cab le to the COAXIAL CABLE CONNECT OR. • Some cab le TV companies off er “premium pa y channels”.

Note: • The above shaded b uttons on the Remote Control glow in the dark. T o use the glow-in-the-dark displa y on the remote control, place it under a fluorescent light or other lighting. • The phosphorescent material contains no radioactive or to xic material, so it is safe to use.
• When you turn on the TV for the first time, it will automaticall y memorize the broadcasting channels. Please perform the f ollowing instructions bef ore pressing the PO WER button. (1) Insert the batteries into the remote control. (See page 5) (2) Connect the antenna cable to the TV set.
Demo Mode • T o learn more about the TV set, you can enter DEMO mode . Simply press and hold MENU on the TV set f or more than 3 seconds. • T o cancel DEMO mode, again press MENU on the TV set f or more than 3 seconds.

H MTS (Multichannel TV Sound) This function allows reception of stereo or bilingual TV sound. • Y ou can enjoy Hi-Fi stereo sound or SAP br oadcasts where av ailable. Stereo broadcasts Liv e television broadcasts of sports, shows, concerts, etc. can be receiv ed in dynamic stereo sound.

• How to set CLOSED CAPTION • Y our TV is equipped with an internal Closed Caption decoder . “Closed Caption” is a system which allows con versations , narration, and sound eff ects in TV programs and home videos to appear as captions on the TV screen (see the illustration).

H VIEW TIMER This function allows y ou to restrict TV viewing time and also allows y ou to control TV usage. This function is to prevent y our children fr om watching too m uch TV . VIEWING TIME (an accumulative timer: counts only the time duration while the TV power is on.

Energy Sa ve • This feature lets y ou lower the power consumption of y our TV set which in turn saves y ou money and minimizes the impact on the en vironment. When this feature is turned on, it reduces the brightness of the TV to a level that consumes appr oximatel y 20 percent less ener gy than when the feature is turned off.
H EZ Setup By operating the channel preset functions, y ou can preset your TV to the desired channels f or viewing. 1 Press MENU to access the MAIN MENU screen. 2 Press CH a / s to mov e the “ E ” mark to “SET UP”. 3 Press V OL k / l to access the SET UP screen, then press CH a / s to mov e the “ E ” mark to “CH SETTING”.

6 Press V OL k to add a channel to the TV memory or press VOL l to er ase a channel from the TV memor y . H BLUE SCREEN A utomatically turns the screen blue if a br oadcast signal is not received. After 15 minutes of non-reception, the TV will turn off automaticall y .
