To aid in reporting this microwave oven in case of loss or theft, please record below the model number and serial number located on the unit. We also suggest you record all the information listed and retain for future reference.

3 This appliance must be grounded. This oven is equipped with a cord having a grounding wire with a grounding plug. It must be plugged into a wall receptacle that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with the National Electrical Code and local codes and ordinances.
4 INFORMA TION YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR OVEN Eggs, sausages, nuts, seeds, fruits & vegetables Popcorn Baby food General ABOUT FOOD • Puncture egg yolks before cooking to prevent “ explosion ” . • Pierce skins of potatoes, apples, squash, hot dogs and sausages so that steam escapes.
5 ABOUT UTENSILS AND COVERINGS The following coverings are ideal: • Paper towels are good for covering foods for re- heating and absorbing fat while cooking bacon. • W ax paper can be used for cooking and reheating. • Plastic wrap that is specially marked for micro- wave use can be used for cooking and reheat- ing.
6 ABOUT MICROW A VE COOKING • Arrange food carefully . Place thickest areas towards outside of dish. • W atch cooking time. Cook for the shortest amount of time indicated and add more as needed. Food severely overcooked can smoke or ignite. • Cover foods while cooking.

9 This is a 12 hour clock. If you attempt to enter an incorrect clock time, will appear in the display. Touch the STOP/CLEAR pad and re-enter the time. • If the electrical power supply to your microwave oven should be interrupted, the display will intermittently show after the power is reinstated.

POWER LEVEL MANUAL OPERA TION TO SET POWER LEVEL There are eleven preset power levels. Using lower power levels increases the cooking time which is recommended for foods such as cheese, milk and long slow cooking of meats.
11 SPECIAL FEA TURES POPCORN The POPCORN setting automatically provides the correct cooking time for most brands of microwave popcorn. You may wish to try several and choose your favorite. Pop only one bag at a time. Unfold bag and place in oven according to directions.

13 DEFROST DEFROST automatically defrosts all the foods shown in the DEFROST CHART below. Round the weight to the nearest tenth of a pound. To enter weight, touch DEFROST and number pad for desired food then number pads for weight. • Suppose you want to defrost a 3.

15 SPECIAL FEA TURES SHOR T CUTS (For R-403J only) SHORT CUTS automatically compute the correct heating time and microwave power level for melting, softening and warming foods shown in the chart. • Suppose you want to melt 1 square of chocolate. PROCEDURE 1 Touch MELT once.
16 PROCEDURE PROCEDURE 1 2 OTHER CONVENIENT FEA TURES NOTE: 1. To use MINUTE PLUS, touch pad within 3 minutes after cooking, closing the door, touching the STOP/CLEAR pad or during cooking. 2. MINUTE PLUS cannot be used with special features. Touch MINUTE PLUS pad.
17 The Child Lock prevents unwanted oven operation such as by small children. The oven can be set so that the control panel is deactivated or locked. To set, touch TIMER/CLOCK pad, the number 1 and then touch the START pad and hold for three seconds. Should a pad be touched, will appear in the display.
18 CLEANING AND CARE Disconnect the power cord before cleaning or leave the door open to inactivate the oven during cleaning. Exterior The outside surface is painted. Clean the outside with mild soap and water; rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Do not use any type of household or abrasive cleaner .
19 Please check the following before calling for service: Place one cup of water in a glass measuring cup in the oven and close the door securely. Operate the oven for one minute at HIGH 100%.
