6 MAFF HEA TING CA TEGOR Y The heating category (a letter A to E) developed by MAFF (Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food) with micr owa ve ov en and food manufactur ers indicates the ability of the oven to heat small quantities of food (up to 500g [1lb 2oz]).
7 MICR O W A VE PO WER LEVELS • Y our oven has 5 pow er lev els, as shown. • T o change the power le vel for cooking, enter the requir ed time and then press the MICRO POWER k ey until the displa y indicates the desired le vel.
8 SETTING THE CLOCK Y our oven has a 12 hour and a 24 hour clock. • T o select the 12 hour clock, press the KI TC HEN TI ME R/ CLO CK S ET k ey once fo r 3 s ec o nd s. will appear on the display . • T o select the 24 hour clock, press the KI TC HE N TI ME R/C LO CK S ET k ey twice.
9 HO W T O OPERA TE Y OUR O VEN Opening the door : T o open the oven door , pull the door opening handle. Starting the ov en: Prepar e and place food in a suitable container onto the turntable or place directl y onto the turntable . Close the door and press the ST AR T/AUT O MINUTE key .
10 HO W T O OPERA TE Y OUR O VEN MANU AL DEFROSTING • Enter the defrosting time and use micr owa ve po wer lev els 10P or 30P to defr ost (refer to page 7). • Stir or turn the food, wher e possible , 2 - 3 times during defrosting. • After defrosting, cover the food in foil and lea v e to stand until thoroughly defr osted.
11 GRILL COOKING You may detect smoke or a burning smell when using the grill for the first time. This is normal and not a sign that the oven is out of order. To avoid this problem, when first using the oven, heat the oven without food for 20 minutes on grill.

13 MICRO + GRILL COOKING MICRO + GRILL combines microwave power with the grill. The combination of microwave power with the grill reduces cooking time and provides a crisp, brown finish. There are 2 choices for the combination: NOTES : It is not necessary to preheat the grill.
14 EXPRESS DEFROST AUTO COOK / EXPRESS DEFROST enables you to cook or defrost the foods listed on the control panel and the charts on pages 14 and pages 16. Follow the example below for details on how to operate these functions. 2. Enter the weight by pressing the WEIGHT k eys until the desired w eight is displa yed.
15 EXPRESS DEFROST A UT O COOK NOTES for EXPRESS DEFROST • To manually defrost, press the power level to P-10 or P-30. Select the time required and press the Start key. • If necessar y , shield small areas of meat or poultry with flat pieces of aluminium foil.
16 MENU WEIGHT RANGE NOTES for AUTO COOK Jack et Potatoes 1 - 3 pieces • If there is a reqiurement to stir the food during the AUTO COOK process, the oven will stop and the audio singal will sound, at the same time the remaining cook time will show on the display.
17 CONVENIENT FUNCTIONS 1. SEQUENCE COOKING: This function allows you to cook using up to 2 different stages which can include Grill or Micro+Grill cooking. Once programmed there is no need to interfere with the cooking operation as the oven will automatically move onto the next stage.
18 CONVENIENT FUNCTIONS 3. LESS ( ▼ ) and MORE ( ▲ ) TIME: The LESS ( ▼ ) TIME and MORE ( ▲ ) TIME keys enable y ou to: • Cook/defrost f ood for less or more time than the automatic pr ogrammes. • Decrease or incr ease cooking/defrosting time whilst the o ven is in use (manual cooking only).
19 CONVENIENT FUNCTIONS 2. Enter the desired time by pr essing the 1 MIN k ey 5 times. 1. Press the KITCHEN TIMER/CLOCK SET k ey once. The displa y will count down. When the displa y reaches zer o , the audible signal will sound. 4. KITCHEN TIMER: Use the KITCHEN TIMER as a minute timer or to monitor the standing time for cooked / defr osted food.
20 MICR O W A VE COOKING AD VICE Micro wav es cook food faster than conv entional cooking. It is theref ore essential that certain techniques are f ollowed to ensur e good results. Many of the f ollowing techniques are similar to those used in conv entional cooking.
21 MICR O W A VE COOKING AD VICE Check the temperature of f ood and drink and stir before serving. T ake special care when serving to babies, children or the elderly . The contents of feeding bottles and baby f ood jars are to be stirr ed or shaken and the temperatur e is to be check ed before consumption to a void burns.
22 SUIT ABLE COOKW ARE T o cook/defrost food in a micr owa ve ov en, the micro wav e energy must be able to pass through the container to penetrate the food. Therefor e it is important to choose suitable cookware. Round/oval dishes ar e preferable to squar e/ oblong ones, as the food in the corners tends to ov ercook.
23 DEFR OSTING AD VICE Defrosting f ood using your micr owa ve ov en is the quick est method of all. It is a simple proccess but the f ollowing instructions are essential to ensur e the food is thoroughl y defrosted. NO TES: • Remove all packaging and wra pping before defr osting.

Place smaller items of food to the centr e of the plate , larger and thick er foods to the edge. Cover with vented micr owa ve cling film and r eheat on MEDIUM, stir/ rear range halfway thr ough r eheating.
25 O VEN INTERIOR • It is important to clean the interior of your micro wav e ov en after each use . • T o clean the oven interior , use a mild detergent solution, such as washing-up liquid, with warm water on a soft cloth. • Food and liquid splashes will build-up on the ov en walls and ceiling.
26 If you think the o ven is not working pr operly ther e are some simple checks y ou can carry out yourself befor e calling an engineer . This will help pr event unnecessar y service calls if the fault is something simple. Follow this simple check belo w: Place half a cup of water on the turntable and close the door .
