13 8 Bringing up the WL-347 /WL-348 Connect the su pplied power-a dapter to th e power inlet port and conn ect it to a wall outlet . The WL-34 7/WL-348 autom atical ly enter s the s elf-test p hase. During self-t est phase, the Power L ED w ill blink briefly, and then w ill be lit continuous ly to indicate that this product is in normal op eration.

15 LAN s ettings The LAN t ab gives y ou the op portunity to change the IP s ettings of t he WL- 347/WL-34 8. Click <App ly> at the bottom of th is screen to sa ve any changes. IP address 192.168.0.1. It is the r outer’s LA N IP ad dress (Y our LAN cl ients default gateway IP a ddress).
16 Lease T ime For ever. In the Lea se T ime sett ing y ou can specify the tim e period that the DH CP lends a n IP address to yo ur LAN clients. The DH CP wil l change your LAN c lient’s IP a ddress wh en this t ime thresh old period is reached.
17 Device Status View the B roadband mo dem/router’s current configuration s ettings. Dev ice Status displays the conf iguration setting s you’ve configured in the Wizard / Basic Settin gs / Wireles s Settings secti on.
18 Internet Status This page disp lays whether the AD SL port is connect ed to an ADSL se rv ice provider. It also disp lays the router’ s WAN IP address, Subnet Mask, and ISP Gateway as w ell as MA C address, th e P rimary DNS. P ress R enew button to renew your WAN IP ad dress.
19 ADSL Status This pag e shows t he curr ent oper ation mode, st atus of your A DSL connect ion, the data rate and the qua lity of your ADS L link. Operatio n mode allows manual selection o f the ADSL mode.
20 DHCP Client St atus DHCP This pa ge shows all DHC P clients (LAN PCs) current ly connecte d to your network. T he ta ble s hows t he ass igned I P ad dress, MAC a ddress a nd ex piration time for ea ch DHCP leas ed client. Use the Refre sh button to update t he availabl e informati on.
21 WL-347/WL-34 8 Log View the op eration log of the WL-3 47/WL-34 8 . This page shows the current system log of th e B roadband modem/rout er. It dis plays any event occu rred after system start up.
22 10 Configuration Wizard Click Wi zard to configure t he mo dem. T he Set up wizard wi ll now b e display ed; check that t he adsl line is connect ed and click N ext. Select your country from the Country list. Sele ct your intern et prov ider. Click Next.
23 Depending on the ch osen prov ider, yo u may need to e nter your u ser name and password or hostname in the follow ing w indow. After you have entered the correct informat ion, click Next .
24 11 Wireless Settings You can set paramet ers tha t are used for th e w ireless sta tion s t o co nnect to this ro uter. T he parameters include Mod e, E SSID, Channel Num ber and Associated C lient. Wireless Fun ction Enable or D isable Wirele ss function here.
25 Basic Settin gs Band All ows you to set the AP fi xed at 8 02.1 1b or 802.11g m ode. You can also select B+ G+N m ode to a llow 80 2.11b, 802.11g a nd 802.11n cl ients at the same t ime. ESSID This is the name of t he wireless signal which is broad casted.
26 Advanc ed Settings This tab allow s yo u to set t he adva nced wireles s options. The options included are Authenticat ion Type, Fragme nt Threshold , RTS Threshold, B eacon Interval, and Preamb le T ype. Y ou sh ould no t change thes e param eters unless you know w hat effect th e changes wi ll have o n the router.
27 Preambl e Type The “Long Preamble” can provide better wi rele ss L AN compatib ility whi le the “Short P reamb le” can provide better w ireless L AN performanc e. Broad cast ESS ID If yo u enable d “Broad cast ESSID”, every wirel ess station located w ithin the coverag e of t his access point ca n disc over this access point eas ily.
28 Security This Access Poi nt provides com plete wireless LA N security funct ions, included are W EP, IEE E 802.1 1x, I EEE 802. 11x with WEP, WPA with pre-s hare d k ey and WPA with RADIUS . With these sec urity functions, you can prevent your wireless LAN from illegal access.
29 WEP When you select 64-b it or 128-bit WEP key, you have to enter W EP keys t o encrypt data. You can generate t he key by your self and enter it. You can enter four WEP k eys a nd select one of th em as a default key. Then t he router can rece ive any pack ets encrypte d by one of th e four keys.
30 Click <Apply> at the bottom of the scr een t o save t he ab ove configurations. You can now con figure other s ections b y c hoosi ng Cont inue, or choose A pply to apply the settings an d reboot the device. WPA Pre-shared Key Wi-Fi Pr otected Access (WPA) is an a dvance d sec urity sta ndard.
31 WPA-Radius Wi-Fi Protected Access ( WPA ) is a n advanced security standard. You can use an externa l RADIUS s erver to authenticat e wir eless stations a nd provid e the session key to encry pt data during comm unication. It uses TKIP or CCMP ( AES ) to chang e t he encryption ke y fr equently.
32 AC L This wireless router supports MAC A ddress Contr ol, which prev ents unauthorize d clients fro m accessing your wire less network. Enabl e wireless acces s con trol Enables the w ireless acce .
33 WPS Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) is t he simplest way to e stablish a connection between the w ireless clients and the wi re less router. You d on’t have to select the encrypti on mode a nd fill in a long e ncryption pa ssphrase every time w hen you try t o s etu p a wire less connect ion.

35 12 Firewall Settings The Broadba nd router pr ovides ext ensive firewa ll prot ection by restricti ng connection parameters, thus limi tin g the risk of hacker atta cks, a nd defending against a wide arra y of comm on Int ernet a ttacks.
36 DMZ If y ou have a cl ient PC that ca nnot run an Internet application (e.g. Games) properly from behind the NAT firewall, then you can open u p the firewall restrictions to u nrestrict ed tw o-way Int ernet access b y definin g a DMZ Host.
37 Denial of Service (DoS) The B roadba nd rout er's firewall can b lock c ommon hacker attacks, inclu ding Denial of Service, P ing of D eath, Por t S can and Sync Flo od.
38 Access You can r estrict users from accessing certa in Intern et applicatio ns/services (e.g. Inter net we bsites, email, FTP etc.). Access Control a llows users t o def ine the tra ffic type p ermitt ed in y our LAN. Yo u can control whic h PC c lient can have access to these ser vices.
39 Filter clien t PC by M AC Check “E nable MA C Filtering” to enable MA C Filtering. Add PC Fill in “Client P C MA C Address” and “Comment” of t he PC that is allowed to acce ss the Inter net, and then cl ick “Add”.

47 QoS QoS can let yo u class ify Intern et applicat ion tr affic by s ource/dest ination IP address a nd port number. You ca n assign priority for each type of a pplication and r eserve bandwidth for it. The packets of a pplications with higher pr iority will a lways go f irst.
48 Edit a QoS rule Selec t the rule you want to edit and c lick “Edit”, t hen e nter the d eta il form of the Q oS rule. C lick “ A pp ly ” after edit ing t he form and the rule will be saved. Adjust QoS rule priority You can select the rul e and click “Move Up” to make its priority higher.

55 Remote Man agement The r emote managem ent function a llows you to designate a host in t he Internet t he ability to configure t he Broa dband router from a remote site.
56 Firm ware Upgrade This page al lows you to u pgrade the router’s firm ware. Firmware Up grade This tool al lows y ou to upgrade th e Broa dband router’s system firmwa re.
57 Backu p Settings The Ba ckup screen al lows yo u to s av e (B ackup) th e router’s current configurat ion settings. When you save the configuration setting (B ackup) you can r e-load the saved configur ation into the router thro ugh the Restore selection.

59 DDNS DDNS a llows you t o m ap t he static domain name to a dy namic IP address. You must get a n acco unt, password a nd y our sta tic domain n ame from the DDNS service pro vid ers. This router s upports D ynDNS, TZO and other common DDN S serv ice providers.
