The following procedures guide you through the process of installing SMART B oard soft ware.

99-00667-00 B0 Installing the Inte ractive Whiteboard 7 Inst alling the Interactive Whiteboard T o install your SMART Board for Flat-Panel Displays interactive whiteboa rd, you’ll have to: 1. mount th e overlay on the flat-panel dis play (see be low) 2.

With the assistance of ano ther person, carefully remove the flat- panel display from the wall mount or the st and, and place it face down on a flat surface. NOTE: The appearance of your flat-p anel display and its a dapter plate can vary from the diagrams shown in this section.

Place the mou nting bracket ov er the flat-panel displa y with the left hang er bracket on your right side. The left bracket goe s on your right because you are looking at the back of the flat-panel disp lay .
99-00667-00 B0 Installing the Inte ractive Whiteboard 11 10. Add a supplied washer to each of the exposed adapter plate bolt holes. Don’t add washer s to the two holes covered by the mounting bracket. The washers compensa te for the mounting bracket’s thickness.
12 Installing the Inte ractive Whiteboard 99-006 67-00 B0 12. Loosen the T-handles on the hang er brackets. Push these bracket s towards the flat surface and then tighten the T-hand les. 13. With the assistance of ano ther person, mount the flat-panel display onto a wall mount or onto a stand.
99-00667-00 B0 Installing the Inte ractive Whiteboard 13 16. Place the overlay facedown on a flat su rface. 17. Attach a washer and an ad justment handle to the overlay’ s two mounting plates, leaving approximately 1/4" ( 0.6 cm) of space be tween the washer and the moun ting plate.

With the assistance of a nother person, mount th e overlay onto the flat-p anel display by sliding the adjustment handles into the U-shaped slots in the hanger bracket s. NOTE: The adjustment handle and the washer must slide behin d the hanger brackets .
99-00667-00 B0 Installing the Inte ractive Whiteboard 15 19. With the assistance of ano ther person, and while supporting the over lay , loosen both adjustment handles, vert ically adjust the overlay so that you can see most of the flat-panel display’s screen, and then tight en the handles.

Y ou’ll connect the other end of this cab le to your computer when you complete the inst allation. 5. Connect the DB9 end of the SMART USB adapter cable to the pen tray .

20 Installing the Inte ractive Whiteboard 99-006 67-00 B0 4. Connect the MOD8 cable to the co ntroller . 5. Connect the DB9 end of the SMART USB adapter cable to the controller . Y ou’ll connect the other end of this cable to your computer when you complete the in stallation.

Y ou connected the other end of this cable to either the pen tray or the co ntroller earlier . 2. Connect the power supply conn ector to the overlay’s power port.
22 Installing the Inte ractive Whiteboard 99-006 67-00 B0 3. Connect the power cable to both th e power supply and a power outlet. 4. Connect the SMAR T USB adapter cable to a USB port on your computer . Y ou connected the other end of this cable to either the pe n tray or the controller earlier .

99-00667-00 B0 Preparing the Inte ractive Whiteboard for Use 25 Prep aring the Interactive Whiteboard for Use When you’ve insta lled SMART Board sof tware (page 5), set up your SMART Board for Flat-Panel Displays interactive whiteboard and connected it to the computer (page 7), the interactive whiteboard still isn’t quite ready to use.

The orient ation screen appears. 2. Follow the on-scree n instructions, pressing your finger squar ely on each target.
