About this document This manual is intended for administrato rs and users of AXIS Q6035 PTZ Dome N etw ork Camera, and is a pplicable to fi rmware 5.25 and later. It includes instructions for using and managing the product on your network. Previous experience of networking will be of use when using this product.

AXIS Q60 35 PTZ Dome Network Camer a A ccessing the pr oduct Access from the Internet Once connected, the Axis product is accessible on your local net work (LAN). To access the p roduct from the Internet you m ust con fi gure your network router to allo w incoming data traf fi c to the product.

Capture mode is set the fi rst time the product is accessed.

The Snapshot button takes a snapshot of the video image. The location where the image is saved can be speci fi ed in the AMC Control Pane l.

Click Setup in the top right-hand corner of t h eL i v eV i e wp a g e . • Administrators have unrestricted access to all settings.

AXIS Q60 35 PTZ Dome Network Camer a Video and A udio H.264 The GOV structure describes the composition of the video stream a nd setting the GOV-length to a higher value saves consid erably on bandwidth but may have an a dv er se effect on image qua lity.
AXIS Q60 35 PTZ Dome Network Camer a Video and A udio White balance White balance is used to make colors in the image appear the same regardless of the color temperature of the lig ht so urce. The Axis product can be set to automatically identify the light source and c ompensate for its c olor.
AXIS Q60 35 PTZ Dome Network Camer a Video and A udio Overlay image An overlay image can be used to provide extra information, or to ma sk a part of the video image.

Audio Input An external microphone or a line source can be connected to the product’s Audio-in connector. Con fi gu re the audio input settings under Video & Audio > Audio Settings .
AXIS Q60 35 PTZ Dome Network Camer a Video and A udio Audio Clips An audio clip is a sound fi le that can be played either when a n event occurs or manually from the Live View page. Audio clips can be uploaded to the product or recorded by a microphone connected to the product.

The Axis product uses the coordinates o f the center of the view to set the lower left and upper right zone areas. First navigate to where you wou ld like the lowermost left point of the OSDI zone to be located.
AXIS Q60 35 PTZ Dome Network Camer a PTZ (P an T ilt Zoom) 4. Guard Tour — A guard tour (see page 25 ) has PTZ control for an inde fi nite period of time. It m ay be overridden by an operator, event or administrator. The guard tour w ill r esume when higher priority groups leave the queue.

For more information, go to www.axis.com/a pplications To up load an application, go to Applications > Packages , click Browse to locate the fi le a nd then click Upload Package .

AXIS Q60 35 PTZ Dome Network Camer a Ev e n ts Gatekeeper The Gatekeeper monitors a n area such as an entrance gate. It can pan, tilt and zoom in, and take a snapshot of, for example, a face, triggered by movement in the area. The camera will then auto matically return to the home positio n and continue to overview the monitored area.

AXIS Q60 35 PTZ Dome Network Camer a Ev e n ts Audio detection The Axis product can be con fi gured to g enerate an alarm when audio rises above, falls below or passes the audio alarm level .T h e alarm level can be set in the range 0–100 where 0 is th e most sensitive and 100 the least sensitive.

To pre vent the disk from becoming full, it is recommended to enable automatic disk cleanup under System Options > Storage .
AXIS Q60 35 PTZ Dome Network Camer a System Options System Options Security Users User access control is enabled by default and can be con fi gured under System Options > Security > Users . An administrator can set up other users by giving them user names and passwords.
AXIS Q60 35 PTZ Dome Network Camer a System Options To access a network protected by IEEE 802.1X, devices must auth enticate themselves. The authentication is performed by a third-party entity called an authentication server , typically a RA DIUS se rve r , examples of which are FreeRADIUS and Microsoft Internet Authentication Service.
AXIS Q60 35 PTZ Dome Network Camer a System Options • Synchronize with computer time sets date and time according to the com puter’s clock. With this op tion, date and time are set once and will not be upd ated automatically. • Synchronize with NTP Server obtains date and time from an NTP server.
AXIS Q60 35 PTZ Dome Network Camer a System Options AVHS is enabled by default. The settings are con fi gured under System Options > Network > TCP IP > Basic . One-click enabled - Press the product’s control button (see Hardware overvi ew , on page 4 ) to connect to an AVHS service over the Internet.
AXIS Q60 35 PTZ Dome Network Camer a System Options Link-Local IPv4 Address Link-Local Address is enabled by default and assigns the Axis product an additional IP address which can be used to access the product from other hosts on the same segment on the loca l network.

A m ulti-connector cable (available from Axis) is required when connecting external d evices, s ee Multi-Connector Cable (sold separately), on page 48 .
AXIS Q60 35 PTZ Dome Network Camer a System Options System Log - Provides information about system events. Access Log - Lists all failed attempts to access the product. The Access Log can also be con fi gured to list all connections to the product (see below).

AXIS Q60 35 PTZ Dome Network Camer a T r oubleshootin g Troubleshooting Checking the fi rmware Firmware is softw ar e that determines the functionality of n e twor k devices. One of your fi rst actions when troubleshooting a problem should be to check the current fi rmwa re vers ion.
AXIS Q60 35 PTZ Dome Network Camer a T r oubleshootin g ping -s 408 <IP address> In Windows , type the following from a command/DOS prompt: arp -s <IP address> <serial number> temp ping -l 408 -t <IP address> 2. If the product does not reply w ithin a few seconds, r es tart it and wait for a reply.
