AXIS Q8665-LE PTZ Network Camera User Manual.
About this Document This manual is intended for administrators and users of AXIS Q8665-LE PT Mount Network Camera, and is applicable to rmware 5.55 and later . It includes instructions for using and managing the product on your network. Previous experience of networking will be of use when using this product.
Technology Equipment. The product shall be grounded either through a shielded network cable (STP) or other appropriate method. Photobiological Safety This product fullls the requirements for photobiological safety according to IEC/EN 6247 1 (risk group 2).

AXIS Q8665-LE PTZ Network Camera Access the Product Set the Root P assword To access the Axis product, you must set the password for the default administrator user root . This is done in the Congure Root P assword dialog, which opens when the product is accessed for the rst time.
AXIS Q8665-LE PTZ Network Camera Access the Product The product is equipped with a wiper to enable wiping of the protective window . Click Start wiper to start the wiper . Click Stop wiper to stop the wiper . Click Start wiper sequence to activate the wiper for a set amount of time.
AXIS Q8665-LE PTZ Network Camera Access the Product The Play button connects to the Axis product and starts playing a media stream. The Stop button stops the media stream. The Snapshot button takes a snapshot of the video image. The location where the image is saved can be specied in the AMC Control P anel.
AXIS Q8665-LE PTZ Network Camera Media Streams Media Streams The Axis product provides several video stream formats. Y our requirements and the properties of your network will determine the type you use. The Live View page in the product provides access to H.
AXIS Q8665-LE PTZ Network Camera Media Streams The AMC Control Panel can be used to congure various video settings. Please see the AXIS Media Control User’s Manual for more information. The AMC Control P anel is automatically installed on rst use, after which it can be congured.
AXIS Q8665-LE PTZ Network Camera Media Streams Note • <ip>= IP address • The Axis product supports QuickTime 6.5.1 and later . • QuickTime may add latency to the video stream. • It may be possible to use other players to view the H.264 stream using the paths above, although Axis does not guarantee this.
AXIS Q8665-LE PTZ Network Camera Set Up the Product Set Up the Product The Axis product can be congured by users with administrator or operator rights. T o open the product’s Setup pages, click Setup in the top right-hand corner of the Live View page.

AXIS Q8665-LE PTZ Network Camera Video H.264 H.264, also known as MPEG-4 P art 1 0/AVC, is a video compression standard that provides high quality video streams at low bit rates. An H.264 video stream consists of different types of frames such as I-frames and P-frames.
AXIS Q8665-LE PTZ Network Camera Video Camera Settings The Video > Camera Settings page provides access to advanced image settings for the Axis product. Image Appearance To change Image Appearance go to the menus under Setup > Video > Camera Settings .
AXIS Q8665-LE PTZ Network Camera Video Shutter speed is related to the amount of time the shutter is opened and is measured in seconds (s). A slow shutter speed allows more light to reach the sensor and can help produce a brighter image in low light situations.
AXIS Q8665-LE PTZ Network Camera Video Overlay Overlays are used to provide extra information, such as forensic video analysis or during product installation and conguration. Overlays are superimposed over the video stream. An overlay text can display the current date and time, or a text string.

AXIS Q8665-LE PTZ Network Camera Configure the Live View Page User Dened Links To display user-dened links in the Live View page, select the Show custom link option, give the link a name and then enter the URL to link to. When dening a web link do not remove the 'http://' from the URL address.

AXIS Q8665-LE PTZ Network Camera Detectors Detectors Camera Tampering Camera Tampering can generate an alarm whenever the camera is repositioned, or when the lens is covered, spray-painted or severely defocused. T o send an alarm, for example an email, an action rule must be set up.

Changing the orientation of the camera will also change the position of the Motion Detection Window .

AXIS Q8665-LE PTZ Network Camera Events Events The Event pages allow you to congure the Axis product to perform actions when different events occur . For example, the product can start a recording or send an email notication when motion is detected.
AXIS Q8665-LE PTZ Network Camera Events - Day/Night Mode – T rigger the rule when the product switches between day mode (IR cut lter on) and night mode (IR cut lter off). This can for example be used to control an external infrared (IR) light connected to an output port.
AXIS Q8665-LE PTZ Network Camera Events Actions Available actions include: • Day/Night Vision Mode – Set day mode (IR cut lter on) or night mode (IR cut lter off). • Overlay T ext – Display an overlay text. See Use Overlay T ext in an Action Rule on page 24 .

AXIS Q8665-LE PTZ Network Camera System Options System Options Security Users User access control is enabled by default and can be congured under System Options > Security > Users . An administrator can set up other users by giving them user names and passwords.
AXIS Q8665-LE PTZ Network Camera System Options To enable HTTPS on the Axis product: 1. Go to System Options > Security > HTTPS 2. Select an HTTPS certicate from the list of installed certicates. 3. Optionally , click Ciphers and select the encryption algorithms to use for SSL.

Preinstalled CA certicates that have been deleted will be reinstalled. A Server/Client certicate can be self-signed or issued by a Certicate Authority (CA).
