13 Controls Hour Meter The hour meter measures the number of hours the ke y has been in the R UN position. Note: The hour meter will register the passage of time when the ke y is in the R UN position, e v en if the engine is not running. The hour meter has a self contained pow er source so the total hours are alwa ys visib le.

20 www .simplicitymfg.com | www .snapper .com Operation When and How Often to Mo w The time of da y and condition of the grass g reatly aff ect the results you’ll get when mo wing. F or the best results, f ollo w these guidelines: 1. Mow when the grass is betw een three and fiv e inches high.

Y ou will need to keep a record of your oper ating time. Determining operating time is easily accomplished by observing the elapsed time recorded by the hour meter .

29 Maintenance W ARNING Be careful when handling the battery . A v oid spilling electrol yte. K eep flames and sparks awa y from the battery . When removing or installing battery cables, disconnect the negative cable FIRST and reconnect it LAST . If not done in this order , the positive terminal can be shorted to the frame by a tool.
