Its purpose, aside f rom recom mending operating and routine servic e requirements , is to prom ote safety through the use of accepted operating practic es.
6 Section 2 - OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS 2.1 PRE-STA RT CHECK LIST Make the following check s and perf orm the s ervice required bef ore each start-up. 2.1.1. Check guards, deflec tors, grass bag, adapter and cover s to mak e sure all are in place and s ecurely tightened.
7 Section 2 - OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS 2.2.2. PRO PELLING M OWER (Self Pr opelled Models) 1. Move ground s peed control to the desired speed position. See Figure 2.4. 2. Move wheel drive control against handle to engage wheel drive and propel m ower forward.

9 Section 3 - MA INTENA NCE 3.1 INTRODUCT ION To retain the quality of the m ower, use genuine SNAPPER r eplacement par ts only . Contact a loc al SNAPPER dealer f or parts and servic e assis tance. For the correc t part or inf ormation f or a particular mower, always mention m odel and serial num ber.
10 Section 3 – MA INTENA NCE 3.2.2. CHECK GREASE LEVEL IN T RA NSMISSIO N 1. Roll m achine and rem ove transm ission f ill plug. See Figure 3.2. FIGURE 3.2 2. Look into plug hole. If liquid grease IS NOT visible on the input gear (the s mall gear below the plug hole), add an am ount, to cover gear, of Snapper “00” greas e.

Disco nnect spark plug wire and secure away from spark plug. Engine and compone nts are HOT. Avoid serious burns, a llow sufficient time for all components to cool.
