6 Section 1 - FAMILIARIZATION FIGURE 1.1 1.1 INTRODUCTION This manual has bee n prepared for the operators of the SNAPPER WALK BEHIND MOWE RS. Its purpose, aside from re commending operating and routine service requirem ents, is to promote safety through the use of a ccepted operating practices.
7 Section 2 - OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 2.1 PRE-START CHECK LIST Make the following checks and perform the service required be fore each start-up. 2.1.1. Check guards, deflectors , grass bag, adapte r and covers to make sure all are in p lace and securely tightened.
8 Section 2 - OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 2.2.2. PROPELLI NG MOWE R 1. Start engine. Refer to Section “Starting & Operation”. 2. Move ground speed control to the desire d speed position. See Figure 2.5. 3. Move wheel drive control against handle to engage wheel drive and propel m ower forward.

10 Section 2 - OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 2.8 INSTALLATION, COLLECTOR GRAS S BAG (Optional accessory on some models) STEP 1: Install the gras s bag adapter and secure to the side and top of the deck with the two nuts provided on the machine. Slot in front edge o f adapter m ust be under nut located on top of deck.

12 Section 3 – MAINTENANCE 3.1 INTRODUCTION To retain the quality of the mower, use genuine SNAPPER replacement parts only. Contact a local SNAPPER dealer for parts and service assistance. For the correct part or information for a particular mower, always mention model and seri al number.

21 DECAL IDENTIFICATION (1) WARNING INSTRUCTIONS. (2) WARNING: Do Not operate w i thout entire Grass Catcher or Guard in place. (3) PRIME (on engine): Use for initial engine starting. Read and follow engine operating and maintena nce instructions. Push bulb to prime engine.
22 DECAL IDENTIFICATION (6) OPERATOR PRESENCE CONTROL (OPC): Arrow points to the OPC bail. When bail is rotated rearward, the engine may be started and will run as indicated by the engine with rotating arro w . With the engine running, the blade is rotating as indicated by the cut grass sy mbol.
