5 Section 1 - FA MILIA RIZA TION FIGURE 1.1 1.1 INTRODUCT ION This manual has been prepared f or the operators of the SNAPPER W ALK BEHIND MO W ERS. Its purpose, aside fr om r ecom m ending operating and routine servic e requirem ents, is to pr omote saf ety through the use of accepted operating practices.
6 Section 2 - OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS 2.1 PRE-STA RT CHECK LIST Make the f ollowing check s and per form the ser vice required bef ore each star t-up. 2.1.1. Check guards , deflec tors, gras s bag, adapter and covers to mak e s ure all are in place and secure ly tightened.
7 Section 2 - OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS 2.2.2. PRO PELLING M OW ER (Self Pr opelled Models Only) 1. Move ground speed c ontrol to the desired s peed position. See Figure 2.4. 2. Start engine. Refer to Sec tion “Starting & Operation”. 3. Move wheel drive c ontrol against handle to engage wheel drive and propel m ower forward.

9 Section 3 - MA INTENA NCE 3.1 INTRODUCT ION To retain the quality of the m ower, use genuine SNAPPER replacem ent par ts only. Contact a local SNAPPER dealer for parts and service ass istance. For the cor rect part or inform ation for a particular mower, always mention m odel and ser ial number .
