Section 3 - OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS 3.1 PRE-STA RT CHECK LIST Make the following c hecks and per form the service required bef ore each start-up. 3.1.1. Check tires and add or release air as needed to bring press ure to 12 psi in drive tires .
11 Section 3 - OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS ROLL RELEA SE: To roll the mac hine w ithout the engine running, pressure wi thin the hydraulic pumps must be released. T here is a hydraulic pressure relief valve on the upper side of each pump that is used to release the pressure.
12 Section 3 - OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS 3.2.1. STARTING ENGINE NOTE: If after 5 sec onds of crank ing the engine does not start, r elease the key. Attempt starting again after waiting for approxim ately 20 seconds . 7. After engine s tarts, m ove the choke c ontrol to the “O FF” or no chok e position.
13 Section 3 - OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS 3.3 CUT TING HEIGHT ADJUS TMENT 1. Adjust c utting height, as desired, to any position, using dec k lif t lever. T he release latch s hould be pulled up when lowering the deck. W hen raising the deck , the release latch does not have to be pulled up.
14 Section 3 - OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS 3.4.2. STOPPING M A CHINE 1. Return motion control lever to the neutral position & the neutral lock position. IMPO RTA NT : Operator m ust use hand assistanc e to bring both m otion control levers to the neutral position & the neutral lock position.
15 Section 4 - MA INTENA NCE 4.1 INTRODUCT ION To retain the quality of the SNAPPER m ower, use genuine SNAPPER replacem ent parts only. Contact a local SNAPPER dealer f or parts and service assistanc e. For the c orrect part or inform ation for a particular SNAPPER m ower, alway s mention the model and serial num ber.
16 Section 4 - MA INTENA NCE 4.2.3. CHECK M OWER DRIVE BELT 1. Lower deck to lowest setting. 2. Remove f ootrest. See Figure 4.3. 3. Removal of f ootrest will allow acc ess to deck belt. 4. Check the belt tension. T he idler pulleys and springs pr ovide proper belt tension and require no adjustm ents.
17 Section 4 - MA INTENA NCE 4.3.3. RIDING MO WER - LUBRICA TION 1. Front Wheel Bearin gs Lubricate with Kendall NLGI No. 2 lithium greas e or equivalent, from a grease gun. See Figur e 4.5. FIGURE 4.5 2. Hydr o Pumps Check the level of the f luid in both of the fluid reser voirs.
18 Section 4 - MA INTENA NCE WA RNING A llow engine to cool fo r at least ten minut es before performing serv ice or maintenance. DO NOT smoke near fuel components when perfor ming service or maintenance. DO NO T perform serv ice and maintenance near an open flame.
19 Section 4 - MA INTENA NCE WA RNING DO NOT attempt any maintenance, adjustmen ts or service with engine running. S TOP engine. STOP blades. Set parking brake. Remove key . Remove spark plug w ires and secure away from spark plugs. Engine and compone nts are HOT .

24 Section 5 - A DJUSTMENTS & REPA IR 5.6 TRACKING A DJUSTM ENT If the m achine does not trac k straight when the Motion Control Levers ar e in the m aximum forward speed pos ition, perfor m the following adjus tment. Rear tire pres sure mus t be set to 12 PSI before mak ing this adjustm ent.
