CHAPTER 2: BASIC SETUP | 11 STEP 6: Get Connected! The Get Connected! Wizard guides you through a one-ti me setup process that prepares the mobi le computer and phone for B luetooth connections. The wizard varies depending on what phone you want to connect to.

CHAPTER 2: BASIC SETUP | 15 STEP 7: Dial-up to Your Network Complete t he following steps to create a new Bluet ooth connection. Before setting up dial-up net working, prepare yourself with dial -up information and other necessary settings for y our office network or ISP.

18 | CHAPTER 2: BASIC SETUP 9. To use a different Bluetoot h phone for dial-up networking, you can use the same connecti on setup, but you must make the new phone your favorite. Just run the Get Connected! Wizard agai n, select the new phone, and make it y our new Favorite when prompted.

(a) When you tap Bluetooth LAN Access, the mobile computer will automati cally begin to search for new Bluet ooth devices. CHAPTER 3: FEATURES | 35 Bluetooth Faxing Many Bluet ooth phones and other types of Bluet ooth-enabled devices support faxing. This chapter explai ns how to use such a device with the Bluetooth Card and y our mobile com puter for wireless faxi ng. The Socket Bluetooth Connecti on Kit does not include faxing soft ware.

In most cases, bonding is for est ablishing secure com munications wi th a Bluetooth-enabled phone. Thi s is a more detai led alternative to usi ng the Bluetooth “Get Connected! Wizard.

As prompted, m ake sure the Bluetooth devi ce that you want to bond with is in Bondabl e mode. 6. If the remote device is set up to accept bonding, a Bluetooth Passkey screen will appear.

50 | CHAPTER 5: SOCKET OBEX Chapter 5 Socket OBEX This chapter explains how to use the Socket OBEX (object exchange) application to trade business cards, cont acts or files with another B luetooth device that supports OBEX.

Note: If each device does not have a business card assigned t o it, you will not be able to exchange business cards.
