9 1 Preparing the battery pack 1 Inser t the battery pack into the batter y charger . 2 Conn ect the battery pack to the wall outlet (wall socket). The CHARGE lamp l ights on, and charging starts. When the CHARGE lamp turns off, char ging is finished (Practical charge).
10 2 Inserting the battery pack/a “Memor y Stick Duo” (not supplied) 1 Open the b attery/“Memory Stick Duo” cover . 2 Inser t the “Memory Stick Duo” (not s upplied) all the way in until it clicks. 3 Confirm the correct direction and then inser t the batter y pack.
11 [ T o remove the battery pack/“Memory Stick Duo” Open the battery/“Memory Stick Duo” cover . 3 Operate the touch panel 1 Press (on-screen key) to display the touch panel buttons. 2 T ouch the buttons on the screen lightly with your finger .

Only the av ailable ite ms are displayed on the screen. Menu for shooting COLOR (Color Mode) Changes the vividness of the image or adds special effects.

23 For details on the operation 1 page 20 Memory Stick Format Formats the “Memory Stick Duo”. Create REC. Folder Creates a folder in a “Memory Stick Duo” for recor ding images. Change REC. Folder Changes the folder currently used for recor ding images.
24 Enjoying your computer Y ou can display images shot w ith the camera on the computer. Also, you can use still images and movies from th e camera more than ev er by taking advantage of the software.
25 Battery life and memor y capacity Batter y life and number of images that can be recorded/viewed The tables show the ap proximate number of images that can be r ecorded/viewed and the battery life when you shoot images in [Normal] mode with the batter y pack (supplied) at full capacity and at an ambient temperature of 25°C (77°F).
26 Number of still imag es and recording time of movies The number of still images and the length of time for movies may v ary de pending on the shooting conditions . • For details on the image size, see page 14. [ The appr oximate numbe r of still images (The image quality is [Fine] on the upper line and [Standar d] on the lower li ne .
27 [ The appr oximate recor ding time of movies (Units: hour : minute : second) • Movies with the s ize set to [640(Fine)] can only be recorded on a “Memory Stick PRO Duo”. • When images recorded using earli er Sony models are played back on this camera, the dis play may differ from the actual image size .
28 T roubleshooting If you experi ence trouble with your camera, try the following solutions. Please understand that you give your consent that the contents of the internal memory , Music files may be checked when you se nd your camera to be repaired.
29 The battery remain ing indicator is incorrect. • This p henomenon occ urs when you use the came ra in an extremel y hot or cold location. • The displ ayed batter y remaining differs from the current one . Fully disch arge and then charge the batter y pack to c orrect the display .
30 Precautions [ Do not use/store the c amera in the foll owing places • In an extremely ho t, cold or humid place In places such as in a car parked in the sun, the camera body may become deformed and thi s may cause a malfunction.
