9 Gettin g Started Step 2: Char ging th e battery pack You ca n charge t he “I nfoLITHI UM” battery pack (P series) (p. 6 2) after attaching it to your camcorder. 1 Alig n the t erminal s of the ba ttery pack and your camcorder 1 , then attach the battery pack and click it into place 2 .
10 4 Connect the mains lead to the AC Adaptor and the wall socket. The CH G (charge) lam p lights up a nd charg ing sta rts. 5 The CHG (charge) lamp turns off when the battery is fully charged. Disconnect the AC Adaptor from the DC IN j ack. Disc onnec t t he AC Ad apto r fro m the DC IN jack holding bot h the cam corder and the DC pl ug.

When us ing it for th e fir st time, the [CLOCK SE T] screen appear s (p. 16). 1 Remove the lens cap by pressing both knobs on the sides of the cap.
13 Gettin g Started Step 4: A djus ting the LC D pane l and view finder Open th e LCD pane l 90 degrees to th e camcorde r ( 1 ), then rotate it t o the be st angle to reco rd or pl ay ( 2 ). • If you rotate the LCD panel 180 degrees to the lens side, you can close the LCD panel with the LCD screen facing out.
14 Step 5 : Usin g th e touch panel You ca n play bac k record ed pictu res (p. 21), or chan ge t he se tt ings (p. 30) usi ng the touc h pane l. Place your ha nd on the rear side o f the LCD panel to support it. Then, touch the buttons di splayed on the screen.

16 Step 6 : Se tting the da te a nd time Set the dat e and time whe n using this camcord er for the first time. If you do not set th e date and ti me, the [CLO CK SET ] screen appe ars every tim e you turn on your camcor der o r chan ge th e POWE R switc h posi ti on.

33 Usin g the Menu To ret urn the sett ing to automati c exposur e, touch [ AU TO] or set [EXPOSURE] to [ AUTO]. • If you set [SPOT METER], [EXPOSURE] is automatically set to [MAN UAL]. • The setting returns to [ AUTO] when you turn the power off for more than 12 hours.
