10 Getting star ted Step 1: Charg ing the batter y pack Y ou can cha rge the “I nfoLITHIUM” ba ttery pack (H series) after attaching it t o your camcor der . Y ou cannot at tach any “ InfoLITHIUM ” battery pack other than the H series to your camco rder .

When your ca mcorder is on, y ou can check the ap proxima te amoun t of remainin g battery power with the remaining ba ttery indicator a t the upper left on the LCD screen. T o remove the batt er y pack Retract the viewf inder and close the LCD screen.
12 Step 2: T ur ning the power on, and setting the date and time 1 Open the L CD screen of your camcor der . Y our camco rder is turned on. T o turn on yo ur camcorder when the LCD screen is o pen, press POWER. POWER 2 Select the desired geographical area with / , then touch [NEXT ].
13 Getting started T o turn off the power Close the LCD screen. The (Movie) lam p flashes several s econds, then the camcor der is turned off. POWER Y ou can turn off your camco rder also by pr essing POWER. If the viewfinder is pulled out, retract the viewfinder as shown in the illustra tion below .
14 Recording Recording Recording movies In the defa ult setting, movies ar e recorded with high definition image quali ty (HD) on the hard disk (p. 40, 44). F asten the grip belt. Open the L CD screen of your camcor der . Y our camco rder is turned on.
15 Recording Y ou can change the r ecording mode of mo vies (p. 44). [ STEAD YSHOT] is set to [A CTIVE] in the default setting. T o adjus t the angle of the LCD panel, first o pen the LCD panel 90 degrees to the camcor der ( ), and then adjust the an gle ( ).
16 Press MODE t o turn on the (Photo) lamp. The aspect ratio of the screen becomes 4:3. Press PHO TO lightly to adjust the f ocus, then press it fully . When disappears, the phot o is recorded. Mo ve the power zoom lever slightly f or a slower zoom.

18 Playback Pla yback on the camcorder In the defa ult setting, movies and p hotos on the in ternal hard disk ar e played (p . 40). Playing movies Open the L CD screen of your camcor der . Y our camco rder is turned on. T o turn on yo ur camcorder when the LCD screen is alr eady open, press POWER.
19 Playback Y our cam corder starts pla ying the selected movie. When pla yback from the selected movie reaches the last mo vie, the screen returns to the VISU AL INDEX screen.
20 Y our camco rder displays the selected pho to. Y ou can zoom in the photo b y moving the zoom lever while viewing photos (PB ZOOM). I f you touch a point in the PB ZOOM frame, the poin t comes to the cen ter in the frame. When viewing phot os recorded on a “ Memo r y Stick PRO Duo ” media, (playback folder) a ppears on the screen.
21 Playback Playing images on a T V Connection methods and the image quali ty (high def inition (HD) or s tandard definition (SD)) pla yed on the TV s creen differ depending on wha t type of T V is connected, and the connectors used. Y ou can connect your camco rder to the TV easily following the instructions of [TV CONNECT Guide].
22 Make the req uired outpu t settings on your ca mcorder . T o connect a high definition TV via componen t video jacks: (HOME) (SET TINGS) [OUTPUT SETTINGS] [COMPONENT] [1080i/576i] .

24 Step 2 Installing the supplied software “PMB” Install “ PMB ” befor e connecting your camcor der to a comp uter . If a versio n of “PMB ” supplied with an other device has already been installed on the comp uter , check the version. (The versio n number is disp layed by clicking [H elp] - [About PMB].
25 Saving movies and photos with a computer Click [Continue]. Confirm the license agr eement, and if you accept the t erms, change to click [Next] [Install] on the computer screen. F ollow the on-screen instructions to install the software.

50 The camcorder is not r ecognized by the computer . Disconnect devices from the USB jack of the comp uter other than the keyboard, mo use, and your ca mcorder . Disconnect the USB cable fro m the compu ter and your ca mcorder , and restart the com puter , then connect the comp uter and yo ur camcor der again in the proper or der .
