6 Getting Started 1. Installi ng the TV This TV can be mounte d on a wal l using a W all- Mount Bracket or placed on a TV stand (each sold separately).
7 Getting Started All model s are ready to be mounted on a wall. Model KDL-52V4100 will require d etaching the T able-T op s tand. • For product protection and safety reasons, Sony strongly recommen.
8 Make sur e that your TV has adequate ai r circulation. Allo w enough space around the TV as sho wn belo w . A void op erating th e TV at temperatures belo w 41 °F (5 °C). ~ • Inadequa te ai r circul ation can lead to overheating of the TV and may cause dam age to you r TV or cause a fire .
9 Getting Started Sony stro ngly reco mme nds tak ing measures to prevent the TV from toppling ov er . Unsecured TVs may topple and result in pro perty damage, se rious bodily injury or e ven death. Prevent the T V from T o ppling Ov er s Secure the TV to a w all and/or stan d.
10 2. Locating Inputs and Outputs ~ • This TV disp lays al l vide o input signa ls in a res olution of 1,92 0 dot s × 1,080 lines. • An HDMI or Comp onent video (Y P B P R ) connect ion is r equir ed to view 48 0i, 480 p, 720p, 1080 i and 10 80p vid eo formats.

Connecting the TV Y ou can enjo y high- def inition and stand ard- definition digital programming (if av ailable in your area) alo ng with standard- def inition analog progr amming. ~ • This TV is capable of receiving unscramb led di gita l prog rammin g for bo th cab le (QA M and 8VS B) and external VHF/UHF antenna (A TSC).
13 Getting Started Shown with D V I Connection ~ • If the equipment has a D VI jack and no t an HDMI jack , connec t the D VI jack to th e HDMI IN 4 (with DVI-to-HDMI cable or adapt er) jack and connect the audio jack to the A UDIO IN (L/R) jack s of HDMI IN 4.
14 Use the TV as a monitor for yo ur PC as shown below . Shown below is the HD15 to HD15 connection. This TV can also be connected to a PC with a D VI or HDM I output. (Refer to the separate Quick Setup Guide.) ~ • Connect the PC IN j ack to the PC us ing an HD15- HD15 ca ble with f errite core ( analog RGB) an d audio cable (see page 11).

16 4. Setting Up the Channel List – Initia l Setup The Initial Setup screen appears when you turn on t he T V f or th e fi rs t tim e. 1 Complete your cable connections (refer to the preceding pag es and the Quick Setup Guide prov ided separately ) before pro ceeding with the Initial Setu p .
