6 VENTILATION The slots and openings in the TV are provided for neces sary ventilation. To ensure reliable operation of the TV an d to protect it from overheating, these slots an d openings mu st never be blocked or covered. Unless proper ventilati on is provided, the TV may gather dust and g et dirty.

9 TV Home Menu: XMB ™ (Xr oss Media Bar) The XMB ™ is a menu of B RA VIA features and input sou rces d isplay ed on the TV s creen. The XMB ™ is an ea sy wa y to sele ct prog rammin g and adj ust sett ings o n yo ur BRA VIA TV . Press th e HOME button on your remo te contr ol to acc ess the XMB ™ .

12 Rear Item Description 1 PC IN (RGB/A UDIO) Connects to a personal comp uter’ s vi deo output connector using a HD 15-HD15 cable with ferrite core (analog R GB, not suppl ied). Can also be connected to oth er analog RGB eq uipment. See “PC Input Signal Referenc e Chart” on page 16 for the signals that can be displayed.
13 Getting Started 2 HD MI IN 1 HDMI/ R-A UDIO-L HDMI (High-Definitio n Multimedi a Interface) provide s an uncompre ssed, all- digital audi o/video interf ace bet ween th is TV an d any HDMI-e quipped audio/ video eq uipmen t, such as a set-top box, D VD player, Blu-ray Disc Player, A/V receiver as well as PC.

15 Getting Started Shown with D V I Connection ~ • If the equipment has a D VI jack and not an HD MI jack, con nect the DVI jack to the HDMI IN 1 (wit h D VI-t o-HDMI cable or adapt er) jack and connect the audio jack to the A UDIO IN (L/R) jack s of HDMI IN 1.

18 This TV is equipped with BRA VIA Theatre Sync. The HDMI Control function enables BR A VIA Theatre Sync to allow communication between Sony TV’ s an d Sony eq ui pmen t. Only Sony equipment with HDMI Control capability is support ed. T o Connect HDMI Contr ol Equipment Use an HDMI cable that bears th e HDMI logo for connection.

Follo w the steps below to program your TV’ s remote control. 1 In the space pro vided belo w , write do wn the three-digi t code of yo ur equipment found on the Manufact urer’ s Codes List on pag e 27.

Follow the in structions on the screen. Settings such as picture and sound adjust ments will not be af fected by this Init ial Setup .
46 Other Inf o rmation Cleaning Clean the ventilation holes of this TV set re gularly (once a month). If dust accumulates, the cooling fa n may not operate pro perly .
