Using the Keyboard ' Combinations and Functions with the Fn Key Combination s/ Feature Funct ion Fn+ (ESC) System Suspend Puts the system into System Suspend mode , a power - management state . To return the system to the active state , press any k ey or press the power button on your comp uter .
Notebook User Guide Fn+ (F12) System Hibernat ion Provides for t he lowest level of p ower con sumption. When you execute this command, the state of the system and state of the peripheral devices are written to the hard disk and the system power is tur ned off .

Using the C D-ROM # Using the CD-ROM Y our computer comes with a CD-R OM. T o ins ert a disc T urn on the co mputer . Press the Eject butto n to open the CD-ROM drive. The tray sli des out. Place a CD-R OM in the tray w ith the label side facin g up.
Notebook User Guide $ Close th e tray by pu shing it g ently . Be sure to seat the disc firmly over the hub fingers . If you do not seat the disc firmly , you could damage your CD-ROM drive and you may not be able to open the tray . When you finish u sing a disc, wait until the LED indicator light turns off .
Using PC Cards % Using PC Cards Y our computer includ es two PC card slots. PC cards allo w yo u to connect portable external de vices suc h as anoth er hard disk dri ve, or to conne ct to a network. T o ins ert a PC card Use the lo wer slot for T ype III PC car ds.

Insert the PC card into the PC card slo t, front label facing up. G ently push the card into the sl ot until the card is fixed into the connector .

Using Smart Connect The preinstalled Smart Connect softw a re allo ws you to use an i.LINK ® cable (not supplied) to conn ect your V AIO notebook to another V AIO computer that also has Smart Connect. Y ou can then use one computer to copy , delete, and edit f iles on the other computer .
Using Infrared Communicat ion Devices ! Using Infrared Communication Devices Y our computer includes an infrared port, located on the left side. Y ou can use this port to communicate with other infrared- eq uipped devices with compatible protocols, such as a digit al still camera or other comp uters.
